  • Magic is unique and already has decades of history with set game modes, metas and very well thought out card pools people already enjoy. With how the cards are structured, people have also made other game modes from the cards, which adds a level of sandbox-iness that doesn't exist in most other games.

Cards aren't also typically power scaled to irrelevance, so people's history with the game usually carries forward to eternal formats.

Also, the community is already overwhelmingly pro-proxy for certain formats / game modes, and being pro-proxy is seeping into other formats too. Everytime shit like this happens with WotC/Hasbro, the default reaction from a lot of people is "I'll just proxy the cards".

  • I mean, they have a history of flipping their stance around 2A. Pro-2A flipped as soon as the Black Panthers armed themselves and did public displays of open carry within their rights.

Regan was very quick to sign gun control laws as soon as that happened.

  • They will spend tons of money to convince lawmakers they're too big to fail, then somehow get a tax subsidized dollar bailout or funding.

  • Massachusetts implemented a 4% millionaire tax in 2022 and a small capital gains tax. The results?

    • extra $3b in tax revenue, extra $1.3b with the capital gains changed.
    • passed a $2.5 billion infrastructure & education bill
    • millionaires in Massachusetts actually grew because of the economic expansion
    • collective wealth of the people in the state went up by 40% two years after it passed

It's proven that it works. We just need policies that benefit people and not just the rich.

  • That's still a stupid reason. I'm a .NET & MSSQL developer primarily, I'm not gonna shove C# in every project I write if it doesn't makes sense.

  • They have UIs that look just like Windows out of the box. A lot of their marketing is to cater to Windows refugees as "we're the easiest ones to get used to".

  • The same thing with the "LA has burned to the ground, we're sending the national guards". Most of the protests and the "rioting" were happening in a 5-6 block area, the rest of LA was business as usual.

  • Jesus famously turned wine into an M-16.

  • No, they're gonna weaponize this by saying "look at what DEI is doing to our schools!" or somehow funnel money to private schools and away from public schools.

  • He claimed to have made stew from his brain, but turns out that was bs and he never did, he was trying to sound like an edgelord.

  • At least in home depot, some of them come with a specific blade tool, or one that's not too much more expensive. It's hard/sharp enough to seamlessly cut through the tints, but not scratch your window.

  • NGL, I eat chips with chopsticks a lot. Prevents crumbs from getting all over the place.

  • They've already started with "this is a globalist ploy to destabilize the American economy".

  • Jesus? That woke ass dude who believes in hand outs (feed the poor), pro-DEI (love thy neighbor), anti-capital punishment (preaches forgiveness)?

  • Just like me frfr

  • It was a huge controversy for conservatives when Obama wore a tan colored suit.

  • From the same supporters who will shoot themselves in the foot to own the libs, this is at a much larger level.

Also, a classic facist move. Get everyone to turn on you, then propagate "the world is out to get us", and once you instill that mentality on the people, it's easier for people to believe we're the victims, and we're fighting for our liberation.

  • My old workplace (rip, got a acquired and the new company ran it to shit) was down the street from a daycare. It had discount plans for the daycare. During lunch/breaks, some of my co-workers would spend time with their kids.

I thought it was a good best of both worlds. Still have the separation, but still get to spend time with your kids.
