  • They aren’t wrong though - the USSR got somewhere around $100-150B from Lend Lease. Ukraine has gotten something like $300B already.

But it’s certainly not money laundering. Wars cost a lot in the modern age. The real question is why are countries giving so much but only to keep Ukraine from losing.

It’s embarrassing for Russia that this war is now longer than their war against Germany in WWII but it’s also sort of embarrassing for Ukraine’s allies.

EDIT: I was estimating in today’s dollars, from Wikipedia - A total of $50.1 billion (equivalent to $690 billion in 2024 when accounting for inflation) worth of supplies was shipped, or 17% of the total war expenditures of the U.S.[3] In all, $31.4 billion went to the United Kingdom, $11.3 billion to the Soviet Union, $3.2 billion to France, $1.6 billion to China, and the remaining $2.6 billion to other Allies.

  • And consider not driving at all if it isn’t important- especially if you don’t have all-weather tires

  • Bonds are US debt, debt that the US uses to pay for stuff like military equipment.

  • “Just kidding, it is 2026 - everyone just dresses like it’s the 90s this year.”

  • Taking one from the Amelie playbook I see

  • Is that true? I haven’t heard MS say anything about enabling local LLMs. Genuinely curious and would like to know more.

  • Yeah it’d be great if From worked a little faster on this stuff, the community has known for months already what was needed and what they finally provided.

So you should definitely get back into the depths! I have seen a ton more Executors playing. Nearly every run actually.

  • Executor mains had a laundry list of requests piling up and Fromsoft delivered on all but two or three? Really love the continuing balance fixes they’re delivering.

I hope there are more of course. I know having the skill remember one or two handed would also be a huge QoL fix.

I got to go back to my old Raider who was my main until he felt untenable in lower depths. He got some real nice buffs too.

I’ve been messing with some builds that never would have worked so well before so overall bravo to From for this last update.

  • And he got a majority in the popular vote too. Enough people went to vote or didn’t care enough to vote to make that happen.

  • It would be really cool if they could expand on the sleep/wake save state to work if you leave the game completely too. Maybe a lot more work than I am imagining.

  • I think they finally fulfilled all the initial promises and then some at this point. Still wish it were deeper but it is pretty well fleshed out now.

  • It’s a very good game, but also very different than what we were lead to believe it would be pre launch.

  • They hyped it themselves in endless promo dev videos leading up to launch. I watched all of them anticipating a very different game than what we ever got.

  • Blockbuster had gotten so monopolistic and predatory by the time Netflix was mailing DVDs that I was thrilled to end my membership with them.

  • And each extra person along increased the time it took by 20 minutes

  • Probably a former cop tho

  • It’s the Obama/Alan Keys rule: no matter how awful the opponent, 28% will vote for them.

  • Yeah it might be historic but it isn’t history. Leave it a few teas though and it may as well be both.

  • Do any of the new Xcom games capture the same magic? I tried to get into on of them and I wasn’t sure if they had lost something or if I was remembering a childhood game too fondly.
