  • A passive water harvester based on MOF-303 has been designed and configured to achieve the highest efficiency among passive designs. A water harvesting capacity of 285 g H2O per kilogram of MOF-303 per day with only ambient sunlight and no power or other energy input was achieved. The MOF cartridge design and the condenser surface treatments were key features in achieving high water harvesting efficiency especially when tested in the field (Death Valley National Park).

    From the paper.

It'd be really nice if people actually read the article instead of just assuming they already know everything.

  • Wow, you don't remember the War on Christmas?

  • game based discussion boards

These already exist, every store page has a "Forum discussion" link. You can also go here and you should find the "game specific forum" section where you can search for whatever game.

  • The technology connections video I linked shows how ultrasonic, steam and evaporative humidifiers work, I was just wondering what "the fancy German one with the wheels" is, because I'm not even sure what it's supposed to look like.

  • How do these humidifiers work? All I know about humidifiers comes from that technology connections video, so "one with wheels" tells me very little.

  • We've all seen Tesla, we should all know by now the stock market doesn't reflect reality.

  • It always bothers me that red houses only ever want to go to red buildings and that you can just leave a lot of the houses completely unconnected to the road system you built. But making a slightly more realistic traffic simulator would probably be a lot more complicated and a lot less fun.

  • There will always be the ingredient list you can read, so whatever is in your 'sausage' won't be any more of a mystery than it already is.

  • Oh no, are companies going to start using healthier, more environmentally sustainable products and not tell us about it?

I'm really not sure what the big deal is, so long as allergens get labeled properly.

  • This is quite surprising, especially as we often don’t think of bananas, or even wet mud, as great conductors. However, the tester surmised that introducing the materials into the circuit is just like adding a resistor in series, and they’re unlikely to distort the audio too much, except by lowering the signal level.

I see you also read the article

  • For long distance maybe, but immediately saying we should all fly everywhere because it has the fewest deaths per passenger mile would really not be looking at the big picture.

  • You need to look at the big picture here, not individual cases.

    By that logic...

We should really be investing in trains and buses, not cars of any type.

  • Is this post in fuckcars? No? Well it should be. We should be investing more in public transit and building cities people can live in without necessarily owning a car. Your participation in society should not hinge on a multi-thousand dollar purchase of a car along with the yearly insurance and other maintenance costs.

  • Alright, but what if I wanted to learn about heat pumps? Or the clever engineering behind some old (usually mechanical) products?

  • I don't know how to do any of that, but it sure sounds like you do

Despite numerous announced initiatives by companies profiting from child and slave labor, none have produced meaningful results. The underlying issue is the inability to ensure a true living wage for farmers, leading them to resort to unpaid child labor, while the industry strives to keep cacao prices at rock bottom.

The conclusion is clear: consumer-facing marketing claims unravel to reveal no substantial impact, leaving consumers susceptible to being "brandwashed." Until significant tangible changes are witnessed or an assurance of ethical practices throughout their operations is evident, Tony’s Chocolonely remains excluded from the list.

They at least give a reason for Tony's to be on the boycott list. But then again, this is the last "news" article they published and it's now over two years old, so who can really say.

  • Presumably members of congress don't usually get a say in the disciplinary actions of any federal agency.

ICE sent a letter to Veasey stating it would address the matter and that such internal investigations can take up to 120 days, but it has otherwise not provided any information.

Veasey’s amendment came a week after the Observer reported that Rodden, who was apparently pulled from federal immigration court schedules following the Observer’s reporting last February, had returned to immigration court in Dallas.

Since ICE doesn't want to fire the guy, this is one of the few official acts thay can be taken to "encourage" him to leave on his own.

  • super powerful ones from the various cheap China sites

Those aren't even ebikes in most states. There are already laws limiting the max speed and power an ebike can have, these are just electric mopeds or motorcycles with pedals.

  • Gavin Newsom says Israel did not commit genocide in Gaza

Now hold on, maybe he's ramping up to say Israel is currently committing a genocide in Gaza. And no, I'm not going to watch the video to check.
