  • For me, that's usually because I want to go somewhere where I feel at home. Home is a place where you live, but it's also a feeling, I think. If you live in a toxic environment and hate every minute there, it may be your home (place where you live), but it's not where you feel at home. Home is also a place where you feel safe and where you can be yourself. And sometimes, it goes beyond that, too. Maybe life is stressful or you suffer from depression and you're looking for an escape because even home doesn't feel like it's home any more. There's so much more to "home" than having a flat or a house to live in.

    Nobody should do this to someone else (and they shouldn't do it to themselves either). Drawing is a form of self-expression. Whether it meets your arbitrary standards for "good art" is irrelevant. Telling someone that they should stop because it's "ugly" is like telling someone to bottle up their emotions because talking about them is "annoying".

  • afaik it doesn't even have to be loud noises. An ear infection, for example, can cause that kind of ringing, too. Having it once or twice a month is weird, though, I agree. It feels like nothing special has happened when it starts. Maybe it's like a hiccup and just happens?

  • Yeah, I've had it for more than half of my life. It was scary at first, then annoying, then I got used to it, and even though random spikes still terrify me, I only really notice it at night. Fortunately, I've started falling asleep in under half an hour (it used to take me 1-2 hours), so it doesn't bother me that much any more. Now, if only we didn't live in such a loud world, maybe it wouldn't keep slowly getting worse :c
