  • It was called a gimmick because you cannot actually use the feature where it can be useful

  • Its a gimmick because it only worked in a few benchmark tests. Everywhere else it was 120hz. Perhaps, it would've been unlocked for a few games they missed.

  • The source code is on github. The OP has issue with giving credit to Metrolist which the project does not appear to do.

  • If it was actually doing something outside of adding AI label to more features. I could've agreed. But, doing what everyone else is doing. What's rebellious or defiant here?

Nothing also has something akin to mindspace. Are they hiring the same 3rd party devs? These stupid AI gimmicks need to stop. Focus on actual UX and UI improvement for once. This AI stupidity is way out of hand. Especially, when the processing is done by a handful of cloud providers.

  • Maybe, Nikola Tesla if he was alive. Our civilization is just not smart enough for such difficult thinking.

  • Usually, you can tell if someone is putting some effort. The OP is not even repying to deny any of the comments. So, ¯(ツ)

  • LLMs are good at language processing tasks. Asking it to write code or solve complex maths it will make things up. Plus, it takes large amounts of energy to run them. Not to mention the data needed to train them.

Code written by them always has security holes. Use it to find facts, correct grammer or maybe generate a small paragraph or essay. But, don't use it to generate code, medical device, etc.

As a recent example Chatgpt cannot answer if there is a seahorse emoji. It will get infinitely stuck in trying to be funny and finding an answer. Changing the answer mid token.

  • No, it was the regular iphone 17.

  • What QOL features improved your experience?

  • You don't need this feature. But, it's a nice convenience. Especially, if you pay flagship prices for a phone. Having a backup magnetic powerbank in an emergency is one use case, magnetic wallets are another.

  • Yes, I saw this in a comparison test where the iphone lost in a battery test while using a wireless magsafe powerbank against Xiaomi 17 with its single internal battery.

  • Its not actually capturing the screen though. Its display a transparent overylay on another app and using a timing side channel attack to track the pixels for the generated 2 factor auth code.

  • Its telling if JRE says he hasn't had a phone explode in the last 10yrs or so.

  • Apple's Magsafe. You don't have to support apple's magsafe. Qi2 is a standard. Supporting that should be good. Accessories which target Qi2, and creating those would be much better.

  • Here I thought not giving accessibility permission, draw over apps permission among others meant I was safe.

Guess, there's always something on the corner. More infuriating, this was disclosed in February and google has yet to completely fix the issue. I doubt I would be getting a proper fix any time sooner than march at this pace.

  • Not all banks and website support physical key authentication. Besides, those keys can also be vulnerable. Yubikeys and others were vulnerable to a side channel attack and you had to buy new keys since you cannot patch hardware.

The only saving grace was an Attacker needed physical access to attempt that. But, yes in general can be more secure.

  • Limited in what way? Faster storage means you won't see the loading icon as frequently and when the device ages there won't be a noticeable difference in speed later.

  • I would watch my back if I were you:#
