  • They deliberately choose to ship a device with an outdated OS. Plus, only promise 2yrs of security updates in other regions except EU which will get 5yrs of security updates.

  • They promise to provide security in EU for 5yrs. Every other region will get 2yrs of security updates. This is a deliberate attempt at keeping the device less secure and sustainable.

  • Its not that they block updates. They simply do not bother to release in other regions. Even though the development time and money used would be minimal at best.

I would like to recommend Motorola. Unfortunately, I cannot. Samsung, oneplus and others will remain a good option.

  • Nothing except the features which are not implemented. You can choose to keep the original as backup if desired.

F-Droid Basic 2.0 alpha released | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

    f-droid.org /en/2026/01/24/fdroid-basic-2.0-alpha.html
  • If you read the article you will see not everyone received the update. Also, the ones who received it suffer from wifi and bluetooth related bugs.

  • The A56 does not have a micro sdcard slot like the A55. The processor is mediocre at best. In the past the sdcard justified average. Now, it has nothing. Like the reviewer said you are better off getting something else like the S25 FE or even the S24 FE. This phone has literally no merit.

  • The affected users will have to get it fixed by visiting a service center.

  • What's the point of the accelerated update schedule if you can't ship it without introducing critical bugs?!

  • It may be controversial but I like the glass design. Atleast, on the homescreen. Smartlauncher bought Adaptive themes, frosted glass before everyone now also includes apple's liquid glass theme take.

I'm conflicted about this in the notification shade but we will see how OEMs implement this on their UIs.

Why AOSP Builds Take Forever (And What You Can Actually Do About It)

    pratikmahalle.medium.com /why-aosp-builds-take-forever-and-what-you-can-actually-do-about-it-c077c40797ee
  • The commentor said he bought phones from LG and ASUS and both shut down their phone devisions. So, i suggested he buy an iphone as a joke.

  • Researchers at mobile security company Dr.Web found that the new family of Android trojans is distributed through GetApps, the official app store for Xiaomi devices.

If you have a xiaomi and use getapps delete that bloat.

  • Have you thought about buying an Iphone? I heard even the base model has 120hz refresh rate plus apple did some magic so it feels 120hz smooth without using too much battery.

  • The person who developed the launcher is not with them. So, why would you Considering, the increased push for tracking it would be stupid to use nova.

There are plenty of launchers which are useful. There's literally no reason to still use Nova.

  • It does have a one time payment option. Either that or getting your data sold. You can't expect people to develop apps for free without anything in return.

  • Devs please stop making apps big, CPU/RAM heavy. Apps like Facebook/Instagram should be shamed they are 1GB each.

Facebook and instagram don't care. They have grown complacent. People will use their apps regardless of how much battery it will use. Are you willing to stop using bloated apps until they improve?

Phone/SoC reviews are a scam, they say SD 363 is 50% better than SD 625. I don't think it is a very big leak from SD625 to 7s Gen 2.

7s gen 2 was released in 2023. The cortex A78 cores used were launched in 2020. They are old plus the soc was not that powerful to begin with. If you want to run battery hogs like instagram and facebook be ready to sacrifice performance and battery.

I think I am going to boycott high tier phones.

You should instead buy a good upper midrange or high end phone once and upgrade only after the current phone stops receiving updates. Smartphones have become very mature and don't bring ground breaking changes any more.

  • I had tried my friend's Edge 50 neo. The phone was very compact and had good battery life thanks to the efficient LTPO display.

  • You can open an issue on their github. They can help better.
