  • They're already blocking states in the US.

  • Hi.

  • The requestee in this scenario holds all the cards. They don't owe the requester any consideration. Regardless it's not unreasonable to expect you to your fucking ducks in a row before you bother people. You're going to have to provide the information anyway.

  • you could be seen as that person who only talks to ask for a favor (wherever it is real or not).

If you are this way you'll be perceived as such regardless of if you do small talk first. I have a relative that only ever talks to me if they want something and it's fucking annoying to wait for the shoe to drop when they try to chit chat beforehand. Just get to the point if that's all you really care about.

  • Spending 30 seconds to type out what you want is hardly a big ask. If typing is a struggle for you then go take a typing course and catch up to everyone else in this century. I don't want a vague "can you talk right now?". I can't answer that question accurately when I'm in the middle of juggling multiple different things pretty much all day long. I need to know what the context is and how much time it is likely to take to make sure it's not going to derail the other shit I have going on. As the person who is demanding attention from someone else you should be doing everything in your power to minimize the inconvenience to them.

  • Do what you want, as I said, I'm not answering a cold call or responding to it unless there is a voicemail and there is a lot more friction between me and listening to a voicemail than there is for checking a teams message or an email.

  • The objectively correct way is to send all the detail you have about the request so that the person fulfilling it has to ask as few follow-up questions as possible. This is the most time efficient way for everyone. If that person is unavailable then you either wait for them or copy paste to the next person. Being selfish doesn't make sense when you're the one that needs them to do something for you. If someone starts a communication with me with "ping" I'm not responding to that ever, if they follow up with what they want they'll still be at the bottom of my list. That shit is disrespectful as fuck.

  • The biggest thing is the updates. If the game can update itself or is no longer getting updates I don't care about it having a launcher. If I have to go to their website and download a new .exe every time they do an update it is annoying. Steam does provide a lot of other QOL features as well though.

  • The % is for humans not water. Anything over 100 is too hot.

  • It's literally a meeting invite... Just send a meeting invite.

  • Hi.

  • Then we're back to just send the whole request and I'll get to it when I get to it. "Hi" is worthless in every scenario.

  • Hi.

  • Eh, I'm not answering a cold call either. Leave a voicemail with what you want and I'll check it when I finish whatever I'm working on. A complete teams message or email with what you want is always going to get the fastest response from me. Respect my time and I'll respect yours.

  • We got way bigger problems to tackle in this world than people living here "illegally" just going about their life. Even if they were the biggest issue, ICE harassing people in the streets isn't the solution.

  • The first one felt pretty amazing at the time. It was enough that I left the theater feeling like I had watched a good movie. When I watched it again later on TV I was like... wait a minute, this isn't good.

  • This is fucking dumb. I made a better knife than that on the bench grinder in my high school shop class. The teacher watched me do it (and immediately took it away).

  • It's all so stupid. I can't remember the last time I got an ad for anything I was interested in buying. It's all just whoever paid the most to shove their garbage in your face. Why even bother with all the spying at that point?

  • I knew that fucker was going to be a problem even on my first play through. The fact that I couldn't murder him was really annoying.

  • I think the Avatar films fall into this category

Nah, those movies are ass. They just have amazing special effects.
