  • Thanks! And piefed is really cool, it's definitely got some kinks to work out though, but that's every software. On desktop the UI is pretty good, but the mobile UI and the moderator/admin experience needs a little polish. But Rimu is an awesome dev and I'm exited to see where the platform goes in the future!

  • I think if you just put the link to those it should show a video preview, I'm not 100% sure how the video previews work for posts, I'll have to do some testing because I had some trouble with linked images making previews. But yes those two are the recommended options

  • Unfortunately no, because the site is down there's now way to retrieve any data, but you can still view those posts if you create an account on lemmy.world and search your username, then at least you could save the photos and repost them if you like

    Edit: it looks like images uploaded directly to the site are broken so your photos just have thumbnails :(

  • I plan to set up the accounts related to the site to be accessible by other admins, I'll probably host a password manager on the site's server, or maybe just create an account one of the popular ones, with relevant credentials in it. That way if something happens and I disappear they can just login and take over. That's part of why I'm actively recruiting admins.

    As far as cost goes FOR NOW I can fully afford the cost of the server without donations, as far as I can tell at least. Currently the donations are just set to go into my personal account, but I would love to get to the point where we can set something up like or maybe joining the fedihosting foundation and have a pool of donations accessible without me.
