  • I live close to the central area of an ~80,000 population city.

Looking at Google maps I've got about 10 general stores within 300 meters, probably thrice that within 500m, plus plenty of smaller specialised stores.

300 to 600m seems like a reasonable distance to walk to and back with four to six bags of groceries.

For smaller more specialised shopping trips one or two kilometres would be fine too.

Three might be a bit much, though I've often walked that to go to the cinema.

  • Atlanta!!!

    Atlatl. Or simply spear-thrower.

It's a bit like a fing-longer, but for your whole arm, and therefore more useful.

Same principle as the sling: they make your arm longer so the "hand" moves faster when you swing it, allowing you to throw stuff at higher and more lethal speeds, and farther.

We're still quite lethal even without these tools though, just look at baseball pitchers.

  • Also our accuracy and reach when throwing stuff.

Especially when combined with our ability to make stuff sharp by banging it against other stuff and breaking it just the right way.

  • Of course it's limiting your options!

Screwing up the customer should not be an option you're allowed to take!

  • Which one?

Pym, I'd assume. I mean, the guy beat his wife, created Ultron, and is generally even more of an asshole than Stark...

  • I did warn you.

  • No I don't. You don't know me.

  • Krokodil, probably.

(Seriously, don't look up images of its effects, it's extremely NSFL shit.)

  • Only thing I can think of is Aquarela do Brasil, but that's only because of Terry Gilliam...

  • Pagers. Kids under 21 can only get pagers.

They get within two meters of a smartphone, both kid, parents, and whoever owns the smartphone go straight to jail.

  • LLMs ain't gonna replace programmers any time soon (they might get us laid off, but they're not going to do our jobs no matter how much executives want them to), but they seem to have already replaced executives, though sadly without the laying off part.

It's becoming more and more evident that these extremely harmful idiots (including CEOs and whatnot) have completely outsourced all their decision making and what little thinking they used to do onto LLMs.

We're being ruled by vegetables parroting hallucinating autocomplete engines.

  • If I recall correctly (and if I'm predicting the pacing correctly), the first part should be more similar to the first part of season one, while the second part should be more of a single arc like in season one.

It's an excellent arc, though, and it involves finally meeting the fandom's fourth favourite character according to the manga poll (with Himmel, Frieren, and, uh, the mimics coming up first, second, and third respectively).

Personally I can't wait (though I'm wondering how they'll manage to make it look good in colour).

  • YouTube (and Google in general) has been horrible for multilingual users (and users who want to see content in a different language than the default for whatever country they're browsing from) for quite some time, but lately it's getting downright unusable without untranslator browser extensions.

  • The USB-A connector has spin ½.

You have to rotate it 360⁰ before it'll fit (and 360⁰ more to get it back to the original orientation).

  • Not sure if adulthood or chronic depression.

    Not sure there's a difference.
