  • Trains are the way, but.... Trains aren't going to be adopted in low-density areas and there are deffo situations where car is good

We also deffo need to quit burning carbon for energy and cars take a hella lot of energy

So you are correct, but we also need to get off fossil fuel cars regardless

Electric cars get like 140 mpg eqiv when powered by coal plants. They get waaaayy more when solar powered.

They will also be much better environment-wise once we get the majority of battery material from old batteries

They should use another car in that image tho. F'n don't put swasticars on your PSA. Will not age well

  • Good news! You're about to learn about for-profit prisons and how racism is very profitable for shareholders, especially in how it suppresses wages and keeps poor people fighting other poor people instead of forming unions...

Maybe not right now tho. I'm done poo.... Uhm I'm about to do something other than googling "prison industrial complex" and "how racism effects unionizing"

  • Which I should clarify is already here. They just don't want us to think that yet cause they invested in a bunch isht that is now obsolete.

It's all ducken obsolete them fossil fuels is. Don't get me wrong, a tank of clean propane is dandy for a Sunday grill, but solar's where it at

  • Their real death will be through obsoletion.

  • It's sad that I was worried how this would go.

I almost feel relief, but after all the bastids from Bondi to Patel to Vance are gone.... Well I'll still feel anxious AF, but I will be less anxious

  • Many moons ago, like 2010, after being vegan for a few years I got my blood tested and found b-12 deficiency (I wasn't consuming flax or supplements.)

I hit the B vitamins pretty hard :-/ Thankfully I've since relaxed. Hope I don't keel over

  • Thanks for these insights.

Us newbs have much to learn

  • Because the Republican party has become the party of rich psychopaths

  • 2 very similar cars and a $100k dumpster dressed as a truck

  • I gave him lots of money when he showed off Teslas all-electric sports car, pitched the model S sedan, and laid out the plan for solar roof tiles, and home battery storage.

It was a beautiful moment when I saw a billionaire putting their money against fossil fuels.

When he was struggling to get model 3 production rolling, I gave him lots more money.

Then he started shitting on trans folks and I started divesting, but still wanted Tesla to succeed.

Then he essentially bought twitter with that money I gave him to develop Tesla and reports of working conditions started coming out so I divested more... But I held hope Tesla board would kick him out and I could put that money back.

Then he got into politics and Tesla board voted to give Elon tens of billions and I left all the way.

    Fucking shame.

There was a moment when Tesla was investing tens of billions into actual electrification research and developing compelling projects and making lots of money because of it.

  • Is there bad advise on there?

I skimmed it and there's lots of good advice I think.

I'm no security expert and this is an honest question.

  • ...and it costs them about the same as it does to use gas, but without the noise, fumes and maintenance gas generators use.

They use the e-bike battery swap stations so they don't have to worry about charging. Payment is via a subscription model

  • You can quit any time...

    🦆💀👹 You just don't want to. 👹💀🦆

  • I thought the same thing.

Seems they are mainly saying they developed cooling method that doesn't rely on a greenhouse gas for a refrigerant. Not nothing.

...and if you stretch and release something off solar/wind power greenhouse emissions will be very low indeed.

I'm curious about lifespan of these systems. I don't know much about SMAs, but my intuition says they degrade. Am I wrong? I hope I am :)

  • My biggest shock from the report is how beer sales are falling. I'm assuming consumption is just down for health reasons?

I'm drinking way less than I used to because I can't afford it anymore (kids are expensive!)

Making protein from waste just makes sense, love to see industry developments like this :)

    P.S. Oyster mushrooms rock

  • Perhaps he considers society not insisting their politicians kick them out societal permission.

  • Yeah, folks who are facing mega droughts can drink AI tokens

  • "...after Nobel snub"?! I guess I was snubbed too. Does that mean I can thwack the dipshit who decided to call the Nobel committee's decision 'a snub' in the nuts?

I'm gonna start calling out the NHL not awarding me the Stanley Cup a snub

  • We need to have a livable planet, but it's complicated because economists figured out rich folks could get richer by spending future profits that come from more efficient methods extraction from natural systems. It works perfectly so long as our extraction increases exponentially forever... Sure this is something ultimately unsustainable in a closed system, but you see the rich people are in charge and they like how things have been going...

...and in the past nerds have always found a way of extracting more...

...so like I mean, yeah exponential growth is impossible... But surely some nerd shisht will fix it. I heard a rich dude who said he's a nerd say computer super intelligence will be like the Uber nerd and will figure something out...

Which sounds great 'cause all the other smart nerds are saying the exponential growth we've been relying on, based mostly on converting carbon to CO2 is gonna kill us all...

The nerds are all saying to continue exponential growth we need to get energy from the sun and upgrading our electrical infrastructure, creating a ton of new jobs, spurring new industries and bypassing the generation of CO2 we've been relying on...

...But that doesn't sound profitable for the folks getting rich off converting carbon to CO2...

    ...So it's complicated. /S
