  • I meant a better option than Clinton or Harris. The dnc are incompetent.

  • The point is the overwhelming majority of folks are MAGA true believers. A good chunk of that 70% voted for Trump, not because he convinced them hes a good president, but just as a vote against the status quo. They'll support a better option for that if there is one presented.

  • He's governing by stream-of-consciousness. Thought->do. Thought->say. No filter. No critical thinking.

  • The South, land of the disenfranchised.

  • 70% if the US is not buying this bs and wants all these idiots to start doing their damn jobs.

30% of the US is giggling with glee over these partisan statements forced on government workers while they fantasize about executions.

  • If you want the populace to support capitalism, the wealthy need to share the spoils voluntarily.

  • Yeah, I qualified it as my opinion because I know not everyone agrees. I make sure our cats have many litter boxes, places to nap and places to scratch, and a couple cat buddies. I hope that they do not feel something is being withheld from them. Thats my goal.

  • They live much shorter lives outdoors. Im not sure how someone could not care about the length of life of something they care about.

  • I see what you mean. I have 3 cats, all girls and spayed. Our neighbor has an outdoor cat (socially acceptable animal cruelty imo), a boy and intact.

They make goo goo eyes at each other through the windows. I dont know what would happen if I let them out, but they look like they'd be friends.

  • I agree and disagree. If you did a large enough trial with many animals and people, for each of many test cats in homes, then the data might show this. I just think that even if this hypothesis is true, the reaction to every cat/person won't be the same for a given test cat. That could be a noisy signal.

  • Thanks

  • Just had a friend die of a heart attack while working in construction with his friends. Didn't make it to the hospital.

That's how I want to go. Just times up one day.

  • I also dont know much about how it works, but I do know the military isn't all MAGA. He's tried to get rid of people all throughout the government if they show signs of disloyal. He's reached into areas the president never has before, and this might be the next. I wonder how a general reacts to that.

  • I think closer to the later. These aren't guys that enlisted last year, or after the election. They are career guys, and have worked with a few presidents i imagine.

I remember hearing chatter about the deep state, and I'll tell you what, Im glad that the power in our government is so diffuse. Career people are invested in their work for the long run.

  • This is about finding dissent. Anyone who isn't willing to use force against political opponents will be identified.

Saddam Hussein did a similar thing when he took power. I dont think Trump can execute them without having a problem, so this will be interesting. If he fires a bunch of generals, this could get weird fast.

  • Ha! Hahaha haha!

I have never once seen a garbage inspector at any of the places I've worked. I have been instructed by my employer to dump or otherwise dispose of things questionably, many, many times.

  • I recycle when convenient. I have two cans the same company empties, one for trash one for recycling. I'll fill the recycling, and overflow goes in the trash.

My wife hates it, but the amount of plastic trash that factories produce just blows consumer household recycling out of the water. There are people whose jobs include fillling a whole dumpster each shift. No comparison. Im not bending over backward to be little Dutch boy with my finger in the dam while it's got a backhoe digging out the foundation.

  • At least we can enjoy avocado toast.

I recently heard someone say lububus are popular because many people's economic state is such that they just say "fuck it, im gonna at least enjoy myself with the few dollars I have." The savings decisions people are faced with are hopeless. I can save to buy a house, but never reach the amt I need for a down payment as home prices skyrocket. I can save for retirement, but the math says I'll be able to afford to retire at 85 for like 2 yrs. I can save for emergency medical bills, but it won't matter if I get really sick because no one can afford the bad stuff. I'll just have to go bankrupt if I live through it. I'd save for an education, but that doesnt actually guarantee I'll make anymore money than I do now.

Just gimme something fun for my money while I can still enjoy it.

  • That is the scariest part of this to me. There are some chronicly online young people, that were well below voting age during covid, and are now just detached from reality due to the propaganda. When I talk to people my age (40's), at least we have a common experience of the world before Obama even. Not so with some folks now. Its terrifying.
