  • ah yes freedom songs, as in 'freedom to put people i hate in cages'. Catchy tune

  • bad for competition? If people want FOSS software, well go make a good product then!

  • does this need to be done 8 billion times or just for the number of olympic participants? I guess this is a resource question.

  • exactly. And if they scale, correct, adapt, then this is a good step. But this hidden bike lane alone is not 'what good bike lane design looks like'

  • oh yeah and the winner will be given the epithet Best Random Person.

  • How would that work? I mean the blockchain part, not the personal information of 8 billion people in the hands of few people part.

  • I love it. Lets fine tune.

give them 1 year and a salary to train, make every event into Cool Runnings. Also only allow 26 year olds so we have a level playing field.

That would lead to doping abuse and then we'd have to do tons of checks for a year.

    But how about:

    • give them only weeks to train, but on site.
    • have a lottery group of 10 per country, allowing only 3 to compete. That would even it out a tiny bit.
    • the 7 none-competitors are still given responsibilities on the team. As supporters, coaches, spokespeople, crew, ... idk managers, etc. I wanna see what the teams come up with. Do they sell merch? Do they provide buses to get fans to cheer at the event? Do they serve their athletes to their best performance?
    • everybody is given the same fixed salary separately, though
    • ah yes and everybody must see the same doctors provided by the Lottery Olympics Committee. Not someone hidden or bribe-able

Then during the weeks on site there is an entire media team providing insights, doing interviews, shows and whatnot. And a reality tv show or whatever the kids are watching these days.

  • Not correct. And misleading. I know not just bikes well. Infrastructure is way more than one bike lane. It is also about how traffic crosses a bike lane. The crossing is slowed down by speedbumps (?) or the bike path is elevated by a curb, etc. and a wide area of visibility is provided, so they are visible before crossing. And most importantly, the car drivers are taught about it. What i mean is, that like in this foto, might work well in the Netherlands, but not so much in other countries.

  • you trade one danger for the other

  • i disagree. There are good and bad separate bike lanes.

In this one, cyclists will be overlooked a lot when crossing the lane. They are hidden behind parked cars.

edit: apologies in advance. I am glad you built this one, which is already a good step in the right direction.

  • in communism, 'class is abolished. The ability to earn more than other workers is almost nonexistent.' Therefore i'd argue that a rank or housing and pay by rank, are very counterproductive.

Stalinist just means authoritarian to me. There was no equality

  • Do any of you guys know what communism or socialism really are?

This thread sounds like if they offer subsidies for goods, housing, school system and so on, then we can ignore you can only get in if they like you and they use the entire countries tax payer money to subsidize goods for themselves only. Must be socialism. We can ignore its about war.

If Socialism means collective ownership and social welfare, then where is the collective ownership in your examples? Many can't get in the US military, but pay for it.

  • And it’s all free (if you’re doing your part).

    🤔

  • what has telling someone what to wear to do with socialism?

  • sounds very exclusive, though. Is it really 'complete'?

  • the best US school system

    what a flex 😐

  • Housing is assigned by rank

    Pay is rated by rank

Is there really a rank in communism? Who decides the details of a rank?

  • only the top is in the burning chamber. The paint will cause friction when the piston should roll veeeery smoothly over the crank and when moving upside down in the cylinder. There are plenty of engine failures in these areas even without paint.

  • When Hitler was choosing his cabinet, he made Göhring Minister of the interior, which was head of the police. Then they put their SS inside of the Reichstag, when they cast the vote if Hitler should have absolute power (for a limited time, to solve a fake issue). The police, now under Göhring, didn't stop them. The SS stood everywhere, shouting Nazi paroles and threatening the Reichstag-members to apply violence if the vote does not come out their way. Back then in the Reichstag, voting wasn't anonymous. The deed was done. Some brave leftists still openly said they cannot vote yes, many were later captured and killed. Hitler obviously just cancelled the limited time part and kept the absolute power.

Many Germans later regretted, not having fought more, when they saw it all coming.

Guys, everything was alarming so far. Announcing to have ICE at the polls is even more alarming. You cannot have the Shitler get that far, where it is too late. You must act now!

Good luck over there, regards from Germany.
