  • A good start would be our governments (at all levels) to get the fuck off Twitter.

    And cancel any starlink contracts.

  • Freedom is slavery...

  • More peaceful protests! /s

    They're barely even doing that.

  • Engaging in any response implicitly agrees on the premise of his question

The only valid response is "JD Vance is lying to you".

  • what can I do

Refute his bullshit with easily verifiable facts whenever thinks he has an audience among your coworkers. As calmly and rationally as you can.

  • Stories of white women being brutalized have always pulled at Americans heart strings.

If decades of school kids getting shot in their schools doesn't motivate Americans to take action, I'm not hopeful that this will either.

I really want my cynicism to be proven wrong, but after watching the Americans for over 50 years, I don't expect it will be.

  • The "do something about it" is not only for AOC, but for all sane Americans.

The longer this rot is allowed to spread and act freely in your country, the harder it will be to get rid of.

  • Theo has been on fire throughout Trump's reign of (t)error

  • Okay but I'm Canadian

So am I (if my username didn't give it away).

Yes they are hoping to wear us down and take us over, but our citizens led boycotts are helping to hurt them more than they expected or are willing to admit.

And the "buy Canadian" movement is also helping blunt the damage their tariffs are causing.

As for a plan, the federal government has been strengening ties with the rest of the world ever since Trump first pulled the 51st state bullshit out of his ass. And that continues. For example, Carney led a delegation to meetings with EU partners over the last 72 hours, where they were specifically discussing international security cooperation.

Initially the meetings were planned to discuss helping Ukraine, but they also has a lot of discussion about Trump's latest atrocity in Venezuela and his ongoing and renewed threats against various other countries including Greenland, Mexico , Canada and the long list of others.

  • Trump is mostly just being a puppet, you are correct in that, but he is also making off the rails speeches and whackadoodle claims in interviews that cause their own sort of chaos and uncertainty.

  • the scenario in which China just stops selling to the US would probably collapse China's economy too

While the US may be one of their biggest single customer (representing about 16% of China's exports), they're far from China's only customer.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_trading_partners_of_China

The EU is almost the same size of market as the US, and the southeast Asian countries as a group are a larger customer than either of those.

Cutting off the US won't cripple China. Plus the Chinese government is very willing to play the long game if they can foresee an eventual positive outcome for themselves.

  • Okay, but what's your idea

Americans regain control of their country from the fascists who are currently running the place?

The rest of the world isn't coming to rescue them from your own self-inflicted wannabe dictatorship.

At least not until we are forced to do it for our own survival.

  • I've been banned from .ml though

    That's a badge of honor

  • This would be the same Chinese industry that short sighted people are clamoring to be allowed to sell EVs in Canada without restriction...

  • The problem is he says so much insane stuff it's hard to keep track of what he might actually take action on.

I didn't expect him to actually attack Venezuela any more than I expected him to nuke a hurricane.

  • It is in there and it does align with what Trump is doing.

  • Sugar can also slow and weaken the setting of concrete.

  • Csis wouldn’t deal with domestic issues like this anyways.

If there is foreign interference into Canadian governance, that is within CSIS purview.

  • They have yet to do move a muscle for the investigation

Not one that the general public might notice.

Most investigations into most things happen quietly, intentionally not drawing the attention of those being investigated.
