  • ...?

  • Because of bitches like you.

I'm a man, you moron. Care to provide any proof that data being reliably collected all across the world, using peer reviewed methodology, is flawed? That's some bold claim. I'd love to see you prove violent crime rates between men and women are actually secretly the same.

  • And the post implies that most men do.

Not really. The image (which might I remind you is a comic strip, not some article published on Science or an opinion piece on the New York Times) implies that women feel very differently about "random strangers of the opposite sex near you right now!" than men do.

And that's true, precisely because of the data you just agreed is valid. If I say to a guy friend "dude you're not going to believe this, we were invited to a party with 50 girls and we will be the only two men!" he'll have a profoundly different reaction than if a girl heard from a friend "girl you're not going to believe this, we were invited to a party with 50 men and we will be the only two girls!". It doesn't matter to them, at this point, "oH nOt AlL MeN aRe DaNGeRoUs" what matters is that they'd be in a inherently more dangerous position than men would be in the opposite scenario.

The comic strip is noticing the difference in gut feeling and reaction, not proposing a thesis on men's criminality.

  • Number of dangerous outcomes when meeting a new person in a date by gender.

    Violent crime by gender.

    Rape events by gender.

Domestic break and entering by gender.

  • It takes five minutes to find data that shows that this is very much not sexism.

  • whether farts are denser than air

    They are.

  • Doesn't apply, nor matter.

Malice or not, their systems didn't delete my photo, that's the point.

  • Conservation of mass would prevent any outcome other than the scale showing you getting lighter.

No household scale would be precise enough for this experiment though.

  • A photo I deleted 10 years ago resurfaced on my Google Drive account recently.

I'm sure it was deleted, and it had never appeared before until now.

    But sure, they're being honest!

  • Does anybody "work with" us on the left or are we the only ones that need to sustain this fallacy and always compromise, to the point we no longer are even being represented?

  • That's because "the dems" aren't leftists. It doesn't matter if we subdivide or not, your "leftist" party is a moderate center party drifting right year after year.

Of course you're going to have trouble gathering leftist support.

  • They most certainly will not switch (or switch and not decide to go back after a few weeks) with the timing of the release of Battlefield 6, which requires Windows. It's an EA game, so I'm not touching that, but they're doing a lot of marketing and it's working.

  • I hate to say it, but it's literally PewDiePie recording a video and showing young gaming fans Linux and calling it "cool". That's it. The guy's got 110M subscribers.

  • I've used Enterprise IoT for a while, which is supposed to be the cleanest possible build of Windows (except for the Chinese government special one) and that STILL somehow managed to introduce ads after updates, reset settings, force me to use the GameBar, and so on.

  • That's not entirely true. It's true that Microsoft invested in Apple, but it's not true that they were about to get broken up and that Microsoft money saved them.

  • The thing with “just works” in monopolies is that it eventually stops working

This gets accelerated when the company starts changing the product just for the sake of having to change something to meet some OKR, or because they need to find a way to incorporate the newest marketing buzz (cloud, AI, etc).

The Office suite was simple to use and performant. Nowadays I watched a college professor struggle for 8 minutes trying to figure out how to save a file locally rather than saving it to OneDrive, because they redesigned everything around that. It also takes an obnoxiously long time to launch, it keeps popping up some Copilot button in inconvenient places too.
