  • That sounds like BS. Chickens evolved to take advantage of bamboo fruiting season which happened once in 7 years, so as soon as that time came, chicken population would increase rapidly. So people figured out if we feed the chickens a lot, they lay a lot of eggs. That was the whole reason to breed them.

    If you could engineer any bird to lay 1-2 eggs a day from once a month, why only do this to chickens? Why not other birds? Why only chicken?
