  • I remember visiting some friends in the US they were so excited to have us try all the famous cereal brands like Fruit Loops etc. It was so sugary it was totally inedible to us, absolutely disgusting.

That said there obviously is cereal out there that can be eaten healthily.

  • That's fair. I don't have the knowledge to back it up but I would assume that a reduction in knife-based hospitalisations represents a reduction in gang violence even if there is still a lot of individual knife crime.

  • Thanks for clarifying and sorry for speaking for you 😅

To be fair, as far as I can tell the stats here are a bit misleading. Hospital visits from kinfe crime are down, but general knife crime was at its highest in 2025. I don't know what the specifics are of that though.

  • I think that's exactly what they meant, and that they would be troubled by a headline that challenges their world view.

  • I'd like to think that the person from feddit.uk knows that! I obviously don't know you're background either but FYI I'd say that this sentence does just refer to a generally conservative person. In the UK we don't really refer to individuals by their party name directly like Republican/Democrat in the US etc. Someone who literally votes Conservative you might refer to as a tory, though there's not really parallels to other political parties. Sorry if this not news to you!

  • What was the free experience like prior to this? I paid for it ages back and haven't really thought about it. I can't remember what I even gained from doing that.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I think an issue with that is that there isn't a mechanism for kicking a country out; the US would have to choose to leave. So more likely the allied nations would have to reform a new agreement which has its own red tape.

  • Ah that's an interesting point. Perhaps really we're the big ones then.

  • I'm just saying this from memory so I may be wrong, but I think size will be a big factor for reduced cancer in small animals. For whales and elephants they have had to gain extra adaptations to handle cancer which accounts for the difference.

  • I think it's a big reason why there's a lot of people are watching hundreds of hours long campaigns online. People are just vicariously playing DnD because so few can get a group together and sustain it. You're not alone by any stretch!

  • I think it's a fair point. Anyone could be either person so no one instance of this is directly offensive, but I agree memes like this seem to routinely put down women.

I don't think op is pissing and shitting and crying over it, there's just no place to talk about it other than the meme itself. Anyone could criticise your comment in the same way, and it's just a strawman argument.

  • I haven't actually seen it myself yet but I believe he makes a cameo in this new Corridor Crew video: https://youtu.be/MVUuoXAkuUg

If you follow his Patreon it's insane how much he's working round the clock for that one video a year.

  • Shoutout to 5D Chess with Multiverse Time Travel

  • Unpopular opinion but generally I agree. Used it for a long time despite being someone that 'always notices' etc etc and honestly preferred it. Eventually turned it off though because every now and then I would be distracted by artifacts during fast movement.

  • Maybe I'm wrong but I'm interpreting this being in the vein of a crime being murder, but potentially also a hate crime. The motivation of a crime is part of its definition and affects sentencing especially in tertiary cases eg attempted murder, manslaughter etc.

  • I got a little under half in the first two, which I'm very happy with haha. JS certainly has some quirks, but you've really got to go looking for them IMO. TypeScript resolves most of these issues with comparing types, and the rest aren't that unique to JS.

  • What would you expect to see in a 'real' universe?

  • This totally used to be a thing on Android but then they removed it 😔

  • Honestly even that is for beginner teams, frankly. If there's good shared understanding, clear work, and good interaction regularly within the team (ie you're actually working together towards a goal), just hurry up and tell everyone what you need, and get out. Fight the sludge.
