Neopronouns are cool. The fact that they're less legible to cis people than more "respectable" forms of address isn't a bad thing, and your friend shouldn't make fun of them. But being in that position means they are more conspicuous and draw a lot of negative attention. I use it/its pronouns sometimes, in addition to she/her, but the cis people I know really do not like or cooperate with that.
not surprising, I remember watching spider move when I was a kid and thinking they were obviously intelligent. sure they creep me out but I hate killing them for no reason, same with literally any other living thing
