  • You mean the abortion rights?

  • It is just unbelievable how greedy some people are even if they already have a lot more than they need. They don't care about making a nothers miserable live even more miserable just to accumulate more of whatever.

I just hope this does not happen in Europe.

  • I always knew some stuff in the USA were odd. But what I read in the last weeks blasts my imagination. I mean the USA has such a strong economy and is leading in all the future technologies. But then I read articles like these. It sound like a third world countries problems. I think I understand more and more why the people are so angry about the politicians. But then they vote Trump who is lying to their faces and does the exact stuff which harms the voters even more.

  • Paywall

  • Haha also true

  • Do not forget macron played also a role in lifting her to this position

  • Still unbelievable what US Americans voted for.

  • That is why I asked.

But still, they write "out of reach" so I it means 60% of people are well beneath minimal life qualitiy. I wonder what minimal life quality actually means tough.

  • "For the bottom 60% of U.S. households, a "minimal quality of life" is out of reach"

Is this for real? Sounds odd to me.

  • Internet is controlled by corporates like meta, Google, tiktok right now. In other words the undemocratic billionaires control the power. And also networks like the Russian bot farms spread fake news and destabilize our society. Parents can not do much about it.

Democracy is doomed if the Internet is not regulated in a way.

  • Well this kind of regulation needs to be democratically. So there need to be independent institutions who regulate. The Same way like the law, police and politics is independent from each other.

If we keep the Internet "free" this means the Internet will be controlled by corporations like meta, Google and tiktok and thus by undemocratic billionaires. And also networks like these Russian fake news propaganda will control the narrative and so indirectly control our society.

I agree with you that regulating the Internet and thus the media need to be balanced against freedom. But if we do not regulate the internet than democracy is doomed.

  • I completely agree Internet should be regulated especially for children. Should be done in Europe as well. But of course this regulation should not be misused for propaganda.

  • Hello, would it be possible to include a button next to the up/down vote button, which marks a post as "read" and prevents it from being shown again? While scrolling I just sometimes see the same post again on the next day

  • I even think russia and usa may work together more closely in the future. Just because they want the same oligarchy and yet there is no need for them to clash against each other. China on the other hand could be a real threat and rival for the USA, just because both are mighty super powers. I wonder how Canada, Europe and India will fit into this.

  • USA will not face a hot war with russia.

USA is already lost in fake news and lies and due to that the people voted for dictatorship. Now the USA is an ally of russia and it is working to cement that further by cutting its bonds with the free world. USA just united with russa in UN votings. Even China and Iran did not unite with russia in that voting. US President Trump wants to be like Putin. US Americans need to face it.

I hope that this will not happen in europe as well. Russia disinformation campaigns are working successful in Europe as well.

  • They need to be jailed and their companied closed

  • Oh... yeah. I will never understand why people follow and support trump.

  • I dont think russia can handle another serious war. But who knows.

I can not see any logic in the usa under trump. So from my point of view anything is possible.

  • True. Also China will start a war in the next few years with great likelihood.
