  • Cause the issue isn't how people are represented, but that money means more representation. Doesn't matter if it was straight democracy or democratic republic, it ain't really either if people with money get more representation.

  • I had someone swear to me that Github templating was better, but I've only worked with Gitlabs templates. Why do you like Gitlab over Github?

  • Yeah, people always seem to forget that it's about what you can purchase, not the $ amount. Similar to living in a city vs a rural area, the cost of food/housing varies widely even in the same country.

  • Once you get into non-standard investments (so not stocks/etfs/CDs/etc.) things get a lot murkier a lot quicker. At some point you are just trusting some person with a lot of money. I mean look at Bernie Maddoff, he was just some guy promising a return on investments.

  • Yeah, I think this one falls squarely on the guy literally eating pounds of fiber.

  • If you have specific games in mind you can check out this site emuready.com. That let's you filter by device or cpu to see how well games play, sorta like ProtonDB for Linux emulation.

I think the biggest issue is, are you looking sub $200 before shipping+tax or after. For example I think the Retroid Pocket 5 is supposed to handle gamcube pretty well, but thats $200 just for the device.

  • I mean, there is definitely something wrong with Trump, he's almost 80.

I guess you could argue that what's wrong with him doesn't affect his ability to lead, but personally he hasn't been mentally fit to lead for a long time now.

  • I looked it up out of curiosity, basically someone ate (as in it was soo much that it wasn't drinkable) a ton of drink powder metamucil that it caused an impacted bowel.

While taking additional fiber without talking to a doctor may not be the best plan, that's a large step away from chugging fiber and taking well over the recommended dose.

  • The question is, could democrats actually do something if they got a supermajority?

Realsitically no, but if they did future elections may look very different.

  • I should've known better. Of course they make a tumbler.

  • Okay, that's more or less what I was expecting. A lot of my work is on smaller problems with more open ended solutions and in those scenarios I find the AI only really helps with boiler plate stuff. Most of the packages I work with it only ever has a fleeting understanding or mixes up versioning so badly that it's really hard to trust it.

  • I'm just amazed whenever I hear people say things like this as I can't get any model to spit out working code most of the time. And even when I can it's inconsistent and/or questionable quality code.

Is it because most of your work is small iterations on an existing code base? Are you only working with the most popular tools that are better supported by models?

  • I'm not sure the materials science was there. Sometimes things don't catch on because it's just not feasible with the technology we have at the time.

For example, a lot of scientists during the Renaissance created machines that would eventually be feasible, but just couldn't be made at the time.

    Example: da-vinci flying machine

  • I mean history is full of different sects of a religion going to war with each other (or at least hating each other).

  • No, I don't think so, just playing on the fact Stanley is a also the name of a tool company.

  • The biggest issue for me with the Xperia Play was that the lack of thumbs ticks kept it stuck as an emulator for retro consoles (it could play ps1 and N64 games, but inputs held it back). This will fall into the same spot, where you can only really play games that don't require a thumbs tick. So if it's your daily driver, you end up with a device that's making sacrifices as a phone and gaming device.

I still liked my Xperia Play, but I don't think I would have recommended it to people.

  • You can't beat Jimmy Neutron

  • It's all Dewalt now!
