  • Ironically this movie is prime american imperialist propaganda, the kind thats used to justify invasion of Venezuela or Greenland.

It shows americans as heavily principled against fascism (which they have not been and are not still, obviously), it completely distorts history and never even mentions USSR side of things. Because in reality 80-90% of german soldiers died on the eastern front and the soviets captured Berlin. Leaving that small detail out makes for the logical conclusion that only americans can be trusted with international affairs, thats why they should be able to tell who runs Venezuela and who governs Greenland.

  • I have lived not between one but two major train lines (they were diverting from a common station), the one on the backside of the house was maybe 10m away, the one from the terrace was a lazy stone throw away. This was in Zürich and the trains there are massive, frequent S-Bahns but also freight trains (all of them electric):

You dont really hear them at all, I sometimes was shocked because there was a fast train coming from behind and I didnt hear it until it was right next to me.

There was 2 days a year, when in the night the rails were grinded, I could hear that and it took maybe 1-2 hours of my sleep, but it was announced weeks in advance.

The rails can emit a screeching sound, but that is usually well blocked by the house.

In contrast I have also lived on the side of a "main street" of a rather small village, maybe 10k inhabitants, that shit was unbearable. You heard everything the motor sound, the tires, the honks, the brakes, the music, trucks hitting a pothole would wake me up every night and so would motorcycles.

It is not a predictable woooOOoooosh like a train every half an hour, but instead an assortment of the worst combination of sounds possible that came and went all through the night. When "rush hour" set in at 6 in the morning you could forget to sleep, even on weekends.

There already was a 30km/h speed limit and a speed camera to curb the noise but it still was batshit. I moved 6 months in because I legitimately developed anger issues fueled by sleep deprivation.

  • I mean they could build dirty bombs, rendering whole citys uninhabitable even if they are intercepted. Personally I would rather not find out.

  • Let me guess they chose the most cold white light possible, that makes a xenon lamp appear warm, instead of the comfortable sodium vapour ones...

  • If such sloppy work is done even in the very superficial threat reports, it casts a very bad light on the institution.

Did they just call the AI work sloppy??? 😳👿 - Slopya Nutella, CEO Microslop (Source: htxps://hallucinated-link.slop)

  • While a plasma is far from an ideal gas:

    pV=nRT

p is the pressure, T the temperature, when you increase the pressure while keeping everything else the same, you increase the temperature aswell. The density here is the colloquial term for pressure.

  • Not even trying but I dont really play games and dont really wach shows or movies, every other food >> american "food" and my music is 95% european (rest random, mostly south american) because the techno/trance here is way better

  • Weak as shit statement not worth the memory its stored on.

First they came for the Venezuelans and we didnt speak out because we were not Venezuelans.

In fact we legitimized it with the same weak language:

"complex situation" as if there was not a 1:1 precedent in history.

"Maduro stole the election" [citation needed] using the same language Trump uses. Both from Merz.

We bent over and even cheered on for the same actions that we now fear are coming for us and only now that its impacting us we slop out the weakest possible statement showing discourage. Pathetic.

  • if you feel like the TLDR singles out China, its because the OP randomname along with sepia and hotznplotzn (likely all the same guy) just spam posts everything "China bad".

Literally half my lemmy feed sometimes is them, they have like over 1000 posts on every account with 95% being "China bad".

I mean everyones entitled to their opinion, but in a recent thread about users should post more there were people being like "I am doing my part" who considered themselfs frequent posters with like 30 posts...

  • Its almost like we need a "next big thing" every other year otherwise capitalism collapses. And if we dont find anything we just make something up.

  • It even violated US law

  • TBH the nobel peace committee awarding their prize to one party in an already tensioned environment was like pouring oil in fire.

They might not have started the war with it, but significantly contributed to normalizing actions that left 40 civilians dead, the violation of UN charta by abducting a foreign leader and now threats to Greenland, Cuba, Columbia etc. they literally sparked a global crisis.

Usually they need like 5-50 years to award someone their stupid prize, but this time it was only weeks after Trump started talking about Venezuela.

If we had any spine left we would sanction the shit out of this disgrace of a committee. Honestly they need prison time and all their funds for 100 years taken from them and invested into stabilizing everything again. Maybe then in 2125 they are more careful not to award war criminals.
