  • They rejected the secret voting on whether to allow them to participate or not. So it was a public voting. After that, Spain, Ireland, Netherlands and Slovenia have already left the contest. Belgium and some others will announce their position soon.

  • Or searchable email bodies...on my phone. Which is where I'd need it most.

  • Thanks. I meant I don't want to choose the incorrect folder, as this seems to be an important distinction they're trying to make. I believe I have read the folder structure varies depending on where the wine/proton is installed.

So...which folder does your protonup-qt install to? I understand it should show it on the UI? Mine for Lutris auto-chooses the wine folder. But Lutris doesn't see it.

  • Thanks. I'll try that a bit later.

  • Thanks. Which folder does it install them to? Is it the wine one or proton?

  • Nope... I'd still say it's on you. They really go for zero knowledge encrypted email. You are the only owner of any and all ways of recovering your account. And under no circumstances they should have any way to access your files or emails. This obviously increases privacy... But also the risk of losing everything.

Tuta also blocks reusing addresses. It also screwed me because i used one for a quick test, and i didn't properly keep the credentials. Now i can't use that address ever again. I guess it makes sense to avoid impersonation.

I'd say if this is not your threat model, you might want to check less restrictive options, maybe mailbox.org.

And don't get me wrong, I have a long list of pet peeves with Proton. But i think that part works as designed.

  • Canada should block the purchase on human rights grounds, regardless.

  • Not the good news I was hoping for. Doesn't seem an open experience at all. The customer here isn't the TV buyer, but the manufacturer. Full of content consumption tracking, customized ads and no mentions of any possible customization by the user, custom apps or anything. This is not for the consumer. It's all about ads and tracking.

  • 1: why?

2: how can we fix this?

  • Not for this one but hey Muzei is nice. You get new wallpapers daily (or whichever frequency you might wanna set) on anything interesting you. By default it's art, but you can get additional plugins about whatever scratches your itch. I'm fine with it downloading daily landscapes from Bing (but without Bing getting to check at anything in my phone).

  • Have you had a chance to try it outside of Europe, perhaps while traveling? I just saw someone mentioning they might be region locked.

  • I'd love to see them crawling to a stop because they have no more lubricant. That'd be a seriously ingenious way to stop a war.

  • I'm sure then it should be placed under the mature section of the app store, after proper age verification and proper and repeated warnings about how this app can get you killed. I'm sure it will be great for their business.

  • I really don't get this trend of placing a flammable battery next to your cranium. What could possibly go wrong.

  • I'm not sure it's disabled in Linux. Might be a BIOS 'feature'.

  • Thanks a lot. I'm not really sure what are the shipping times. I'm briefly in Europe, so this might be an option...if they're quick to ship.

EDIT: After some checking in XDA, I think this model might not be supported for installing LOS. But I might be able to use it without root perhaps...I only need to change the launcher (and remap the home button to the new launcher maybe), disable updates and install f-droid. And the just install jellyfin.

  • Except the Dells now might have HEVC hardware decoding disabled at OS level to save a few licensing bucks.

  • Anyone has a list of the Dell laptops? I have a Latitude 7350 Detachable with an intel core ultra 164U. I think I might be affected...but then again, I have it running KDE neon, so not sure if this is disabled at hardware level or if it will work on a different OS.

  • What is your "privacy" browser... And how did you disable this?
