That’s the one thing I find so disappointing about the iPad. Part of me wants to use it as my only device (for nostalgic times during college), but it’s simply so gimped by not only the hardware, but policy decisions Apple has made as well. (Looking at you JIT)
Does Wicked Count? If not then that weird piece of shit Nicolas Cage was involved in last year. Really cool concept until it became an out of touch rant about “woke cancel culture” or some shit.
When I was first starting out it felt like that. Granted, when I first used Linux it was in 2011.
I returned to Linux three years ago, and I only fucked up royally twice. Granted, I didn’t know how to fix what I did at the time (I removed my only account from sudoers).
To be fair, they can get away with this just because the anti-choice stance is so ravenous they have a self-righteous-sized blind spot for preventable suffering of others.
Sadly, this won’t be covered broadly enough or penetrate the bubbles it needs to for opinion to change. Even in 2024 only 9% of voters listed abortion as their most important issue. Where 48% listed inflation, “the economy”, or immigration as their most important issue. Draw from that what you will, but I don’t think the average voter understands the … externalities of strong anti-abortion measures.
I’d argue it will be Android/iOS/ChromeOS over Windows, for better or for worse. This fucks over companies and governments than it does the average user, in aggregate.
I spend a few months here and there just using my iPad for everything I can (I got through my college degree with one a long time ago and it’s nostalgic for me), and it’s crazy to me how feature complete it is for most work flows. Exactly programming is an issue, for me, but I can create an STL to printing it all on device! Much less office and what not.
NGL, a few more rounds of sweet Asahi releases Linux might be better for gaming on the M1 series over MacOS. The devs actually have a Vulcan support built. Apple never bothered, lol.
I’ve lived with someone who came out as an unapologetic white Christian supremacist shortly before moving out. He definitely held these beliefs and cited “the old ways things were”.
For real, I just wanted to read about antics related to the American election, and homie is coming in with the “hey, I have a story about nightmare bowel reconstruction” that makes me simultaneously thankful everything is okay on my end, sad for another person, and grossed out at the same time.
Maybe — such a line of thinking confuses me, and I’ve seen some stuff online similar to that before. It’s simply not helpful nor Christlike. In my view, one’s faith shouldn’t be wielded self-righteously and or in judgment of others.
My old MacBook hangs around just for this case. As clever as I think I am, I know, deep down, I am hack and have poor luck so I always need a ripcord.
Working as a self-taught dev has a weird toll. Lmao.
