  • Base 10/100 is inferior to 12/60 when it comes to splitting.

10 can only be divided by 10,5,2, and 1. 100 only adds 4, 25, and 50 to that.

    12 is divisible by 12,6,4,3,2, and 1. 60 adds 5,10,15,20, and 30.

What is time other than measuring the movements of circles and spheres? The rotation of the earth, the revolution around the sun. It makes sense for us to use the same basic 12/60/360 tools we use for circles, degrees. The “metric” measurement of circles is radians, which would require factoring pi into our measurement of time, and that would be way more complicated.

  • Dear sir,

While we have not met, your opinion is so wrong I have no choice but to challenge you to a duel on that hill. Choose the weapons and the time.

  • The more the ingredients stray from: milk, cream, sugar, whatever flavor; the less it’s ice cream.

Figure anything store bought is also going to have some preservatives, but milk, cream, and sugar should be the first 3 things listed else it’s likely “frozen dairy” instead of ice cream.

  • To even have Greedo shoot reflexively as he dies fundamentally changes Han from cold blooded to standing his ground. To have Greedo miss a 3ft shot so Han can justify a response is just laughably bad. Han’s redemption (returning any the end to save the day) is cheapened by the fact that he’s not the cold blooded, do anything to survive, scum of Moss Eisley as he was in the original theatrical release.

  • Right? What’s the point if it doesn’t create jobs? I guess it’s still “winning” to take jobs away from China, but who’s going to have the money to buy a “made in the USA“ iPhone?

  • Never seen it, but after watching the preview it’s one of the few movies from that era that recognize the ubiquity of cell phones. There was a period of time where Hollywood ignored their existence with rare exceptions. Then a period of time where they had to come up with some excuse why cell phones don’t work. Then they finally started working them into the plot. My 2010 date was more about all movies after around that time acknowledged cell phones and don’t try to “break” them as a tool for characters to use. Disaster movies obviously the exception as it makes sense cell phone towers would be destroyed or circuits overloaded.

  • How crazy to be the useful idiot’s useful idiot.

  • Most movies from prior to 2010 would be drastically different if you included cell phones. It’s like saying Robin Hood would be different if you gave him a gun. Technology changes the ways we resolve conflicts.

  • It’ll be super fucked if we do. If it’s left vs right you’ll have most of the major cities besieged by rural folk. If it’s state on state, Red and blue states both will have to “secure” vast swaths of their populations or suffer constant sabotage.

This isn’t as easily cut and dry, north vs south, as the US civil war was. Modern civil war would be a hell of destroyed cities and slaughtered or starving innocents. Just look at all current conflicts. You may be tired now, but it’s nothing compared to the reality of what USCWII would be.

  • I’m glad someone is cranking up battery sizes. If the camera sticks out from the back, you have room. Too bad it’s not from a company with better customer service.

  • No, despite Ford’s claims, I don’t expect it to until the next gen F150s across the board make the switch.

  • Yeah the context needs to be given of how much was spent finding that fraud vs how much that fraud cost the system. Then ask the question, is a minuscule amount of fraud tolerable if it costs more to find and eliminate it? When they inevitably say the fraud should be snuffed out at all costs then ask why we don’t work to eliminate millionaire level tax fraud. Then they will just start ignoring you because accepting and genuinely contemplating those questions and answers will alter the hate filled world view too much.

  • More than there was before the cooks got put on dishwashing and floor mopping.

  • Learning their lesson late is better than never learning it at all. You question it like it’s a bad thing, but it’s good that he’s realizing that those actions are terrible and getting mad about it. Especially when he has influence and can get others mad about it too. Yes, in an ideal world everyone would always be on the client side, but I’d rather people jump sides than to double down on being wrong.

  • What one needs is usually a lot less than what one wants. I honestly could get by with a pedal assist bicycle. And yes 100 miles is passable because isn’t far off what my Valkyrie (same engine as a Goldwing ) gets on a full tank.

Is it suitable for an all day ride? No, but it still wouldn’t be if it had a 200 mile range. But it would suit all my regular needs and look like what I want it to look like.

  • Why do all electric motorcycles look like an ‘80s idea of the future or a dirt bike? Why can’t we get a touring / cruiser style bike? I can deal with a 100 mile range, but I won’t be riding one till they look like a normal bike.

  • You have 400 kW charging at home?!

Even if they’re throttled for the cooling system you usually get 37 kW which is more than an 80 amp home charger puts out (19.2 kW).

  • It does fine for a few years, but eventually starts sun bleaching and looking terrible. Seen a lot of hacks to make it look better, but the plastic still gets brittle and dry. A coat of paint or spray on bed liner does wonders to fight that.

  • The average truck buyer is looking for something that can do everything. Seating for the whole family, comfortable for trips across town or aria the country, able to pull a trailer and carry a load. Enough luxury to enjoy the drive.

This truck is for businesses. Construction or last mile delivery. Enough room for just the people necessary to load or unload it. No comfort features besides the bare minimum. No long range driving.

I expect to see these in fleet yards, not in driveways.
