  • Duplicate communities posting the same content over and over again.

Communities are tied to an instance. How many communities will die because lemm.ee is shutting down? There is a slightly mad rush to migrate communities already.

Lemmy should have used usent style naming for communities.

  • Would you be saying the same thing if this was a Jimmy Saville show? The guy is accused of serious sexual assaults. This has nothing to do with his music or beliefs.

  • This is not because of his view on Christianity but because he's accused of serious sexual assaults. Christian or not, that's not cool.

  • I'm a 50-something man, and i still have the Maxine und Moritz cushion from when I was a toddler. Well, technically, it's a different pillow as the original is extremely tatty now.

  • If you want to get away with murder, use a car.

  • This is very sad news. I saw them live 6 maybe 7 times. I was on my way to WGT several years ago and saw him necking pints at 8am in the airport. I know he had health issues for a while - I just hope they weren't drink related.

  • How the hell did they get up there?

  • I wonder if the outcome would have been the same if it was a black driver and a white kid.

  • Cocaine is a hell of a drug!

  • It's bad - why would you bit something today of its cheaper next week? Not everyone will wait, for sure, but the affect is a significant break on the economy.

  • One candidate was a nazi thug, the other wasn't. I feel.like I repeat myself so many times, but once again:

Nazis always turn up to vote. The left loves to find a reason not to. The Nazis know this and have developed a playback to win. Their plan is simple but highly effective: use a wedge issue to persuade enough left wing to just not turn up.

Also, an election this close.... I'm sorry, but sitting out this one very much means you are happy to have a thug as your president.

  • But the babies need ventilators!

  • Chances are, you are part of the 10%

  • The right have devised and extremely effective strategy: spam the Internet with an absurd amount of hit pieces against the left (and liberal!) politicians. They monitor the reaction, and as soon as one takes hold, they push it - hard.

The left have a special talent for not showing up or wasting their vote on a no hope candidate. This strategy plays straight into that weakness.

Some examples: incubators for babies during the Brexit vote, being pro-Palestine during the 2019 UK election. Being anti-Palestine during the US election. Any reason to sit it out... and let facists win.

We need to wake up and realise that sitting it out is exactly what the nazis want. They don't expect you to vote for them. Just sitting it out is enough.

Yes, better left-wing candidates would be great - but that's on us. Getting rid of FPTP in the UK might help. Either way, we need to wake up to this strategy and start being smarter. Grass root campaigns to get better candidates, sure, but for fucks sake, turn out and vote!

  • Why just musical artists? Paintings, books, whatever - so long as its on topic.

  • And Palestine still hasn't been saved.

  • Sounds fair to me.

  • Well, that doesn't even sound like it would cost anything.
