  • My only 2 online paid services are Hulu (love watching Bob's burgers) and ring for a security camera I was gifted when I purchased my home. 25$ a month covers both!

  • An application is for end user, a program is a set of instructions. All apps are programs but not all programs are apps ;)

  • I do believe it requires a fresh install, similar to switching from Windows pro to home versions for example.

  • Yep! RI is one of those states that there ain't a shot in hell ur gonna survive on min wage anyways. Cheapest apts are 1800+, if ur on minimum wage and still want to eat on a 40 hour week you have multiple room mates. I still have friends in mass that are paying 2/3rds or more of my mortgage for a ROOM. So glad I left there, not that shits all that much better in other states but at least I'm building equity now 🤷

  • That bites. I had insurance offer to pay 900$ for my 4k ambulance ride (involuntary) , despite my insurance clearly stating 50$ co pay. I signed the check to the ambulance company from my insurance and they kicked me a bill for the 3k$ and change remaining. Send that to BCBSRI, they denied it. I had to appeal and remind them of the policy I had where JT clearly stated 50$ co pay for ambulance and they finally coughed up the rest as a "one time exception". Fucking racket this shit is they were just hopeful I wouldn't go through the 3 months or so of bullshit and being harassed by collections companies to pay. Never gave the collections a penny and medstar ems can SUCK MY DICK fuck those guys.

  • Well in some states that's still a thing. In RI which I just left that God forsaken shit hole 2 years ago if you don't have health insurance coverage for the whole year you pay 800$ or 2% of what you made that year, whichever is GREATER.

  • It's honestly starting to look like your better off without insurance. When the hospital kicks you the bill, pay 20 a month max so they can't kick it to collections and ruin hr credit and just do 5-20 a month untill you croak. Fuck em theyll never get paid in full this way but u don't have to financially ruin yourself in the process.

  • So I have Xfinity and your supposed to be able to do this via web. I was riding my dual sport deep in the woods and lost my phone. Tried my damnest to activate an s21+ I had in a drawer and it kept kicking it back. I go to store and they cannot activate it as it's "not supported by their network". They try to sell me a new phone. I'm frustrated and on like day 3 no phone so I said fuck it I'll buy the cheapest Motorola on the shelf, but under one condition. I refused to buy the phone or continue my contract unless they would give me a physical sim (they tried pushing the esim HARD). I got home, took the sim out of my Motorola, popped it into my "unsupported phone" and it worked fucking fine. Esims are just another complication and way to get tech illiterate into the store. As long as I can I will never let go of my physical sim ever again.

  • I was under the impression there were completely ai written books for sale on the internet on places like Amazon already!

  • Can you elaborate? He was the only property in that area WITHOUT a suitable backstop to fire at, and was firing off rounds by the handful from a newly acquired firearm out of excitement. Sounds about as fucking chicken shit as you can get with a firearm short of shooting randomly in a city centre, but what would I know haven't killed anybody yet after years of shooting safely. Know where you are pointing the barrel, and know whatever is down range of it is liable to get killed. And yes, a house being behind where your shooting is a pretty basic consideration if you ask me but nobody knows gun safety anymore and instead choose ignorance. Not sure in what fantasy land you could say Adams from the article WASNT being chicken shit in, maybe if you read the article you will understand better what happened.

  • If you aren't absolutely chicken shit it isn't a problem. Idk I think u should have to get a licence to own a firearm, maybe if you can't figure out bullet-go-far you can't fucking own a gun

  • What middle class? But fair enough. I just can't help but feel I got shafted when the first president election I was old enough to vote in had trump on the ballot.

  • Trouble is half of us voted against it and still get to suffer the consequences. I'm not having fun anymore.

  • Use it or loose it! I used to work with a 72 year old mechanic that could still work like a bull. Better shape than any other 70 year olds I had met. Just gotta remember not to pull too many stupid stunts in your youth...

  • Go to hobo freight and get a cheap welder and some metal! It ain't too hard. If you wanna be a pipe fitter or something of the sort you should get some real education, but those guys make way more than most in IT would. I know several pipe fitters that are into the 6 digit pay enough to make me consider leaving automotive...

  • I originally went to college for biochem. Did not want to do the masters just wanted to do my 4 years and get to work. Found out biochem pay is pretty piss poor for the large part and good luck finding a job anyways. Switched to a business major because their easier bullshit degrees that get u better paying jobs than biochem would. Discovered I would promptly suck start a shotgun if I had to sit behind a desk every day. Now I work on land rovers every day and spin wrenches for a living. Don't chase money, find out what you want your life to look then start to build around that. I make just enough to afford my house, and have access to an incredible shop to build my cars and bikes and jeeps (my hobby) that I couldnnever afford if i had to pay somebody else to do it. I am also able to save thousands every year between wife and I repairs and get vehicles cheaper because I can unfuck ratty cars. This gives me a better quality of living than one may expect from a mechanic. You can't pick doing something you despise every day or you'll be miserable forever. If u do what you love for a living not every day will be daisies, and you will grow some amount of distain for it some days. But it sure as hell beat doing something you hate every day for decades.

  • An unfortunate product of our consumer society :/ nobody knows shit about the crap they use every day any more! I remember when owning a car meant learning to do spark plugs and oil changes, now most people couldn't hang their spare on the side of the road if their life depended on it nevermind be bothered to figure out what hardware is in their porn browsing device.

  • U can still force an install on older hardware, I did it on my old Lenovo laptop and have t had an issue! Just takes a command to make it install despite "not officially being supported"
