  • Kids these days have access to the internet way too early. When I wanted to use the internet up until 14 I could either go buy my own computer (with what job lol) or I could use the family computer in the living room. Now 11 year olds are shit posting to 18+ subreddits it's disgusting. And it's all the parents fault. No govt regulation will fix this, you have to discipline your kids!

  • I also highly doubt this screw is made with intention to keep users out of repairing their cars. I guarantee they are dress ups for engine bay/ interior. Having the bmw logo along panel screws looks far more puff than a bunch of torx screws. Every car requires either special tools or special software to work on, NO exceptions in modern vehicles. You cannot truly clear error codes from a Chrysler without a subscription to their gateway and internet access. You can go in limp mode where there's no service and ur 3k autel scanner won't help you without wifi as it cannot connect to the gateway. I don't give a crap about special fasteners that's the name of the game, my gripes are what they do on the computer side of things to lock you out. Right to repair just means you have the right to pay dealer networks thousands a year for the privilege of accessing your own modules on ur car with your scanner. What a fucking racket.

  • Yea I try to run my equipment as damn long as I can lol. Before the fx I was ripping a x6 phenom lmfao. Insane how every upgrade I have made has over doubled computing power and memory+ storage +pcie bandwidth. And to think our rigs are technically a gen behind given ddr5 and pcie 5 are out. Moving to nvme storage was the biggest boost I think I experienced. Sata ssd was sick when it came out but going from sata ssd to nvme was like going from a HDD to a sata ssd all over again lol. Looking back it is honestly incredible how many leaps and bounds in computing power we have experienced.

  • Dude 2 years ago I built my first PC in a minute and last year built one for wifey (was running a rx580, ddr3 ram and fx6300 that I was milking as long as I could, built my rig and wife used that one till she had me build a better one on ddr4 ram ryzen 5 and pcie 4.0 mobo etc) and didn't think it was a great time to build because of prices being all over but now I'm just glad I didn't wait any longer!

  • The enshitification of the internet as a whole killed so many forums. I used to scour forums (and still regularly visit old forums) for info, but now it's on discord or some bs facebook group. I miss old school forums and wikis and I fail to understand why everybody got away from them :c how on earth is an endless scroll of a FB page remotely conductive to finding information vs searching for the right thread on a forum?! I have no experience using discord so can't speak for them but seeing all these articles makes me think I never will either.

  • What discussions happen on discord? I'm late 20s and play video games regularly and I have never used it. Thought it was where people streamed themselves playing video games or selling bathwater or whatever. Back in the day my home boys and I used to chat on teamspeak while gaming, but who has time for that shit anymore? My gaming is almost all single player or with the wifey 3 feet to my left lol.

  • Get bent. I knew a kid that threatened to shoot up 26 individuals and had firearms. My best bud called the cops and they intervened. Mind you this kid was out friend and we knew he had issues and was spiraling. He did not get in any real shit for that but later got felony charges and can no longer own guns legally. Yes when people make threats and have the means to follow through , and is killing animals for pleasure something has to be done. This is real life, not a fucking joke and op needs to hear this before they end up a potential victim. There is a reason their asking for advice and going to therapy and it's because their in a dangerous situation that needs rectified. And fyi I do not watch serial killer documentaries, honestly not huge on TV in general. I'm beginning to wonder if you identify with the person in question having reacted the way you have, or maybe your in a similar boat to op and afraid to take the first step. Trust me things can be made better if you are willing to try to do something about it, perhaps if the brother gets help sooner than later they may never go down a dangerous path. Either way intervention has to happen.
