I organize the Eurovision Song Contest, but exclusive to Lemmy, it's called Lemmyvision !

  • I'm nitpicking but you pay taxes multiple times in general, eg:

    • you pay taxes on income/wage
    • vat when you spend it
    • shop pays taxes on profit
    • the employee pays income tax again

    Inheritance tax monitors the transfer of wealth rather than the original earning of it, the goal is to prevent accumulation of wealth, and birth becoming the main determining factor for chances in society. Usually it's progressively applied, with tax free thresholds, so the common people often aren't even subject to such tax.

  • Oui c'est lié à cette info https://discord.com/press-releases/discord-launches-teen-by-default-settings-globally, en gros vérif d'identité par des parties tierces, via photo du visage ou photo de document d'identité.

    Outre le fait que c'est sacrément intrusif comme méthode (mais Discord est forcé à implémenter car y'a un problème de grooming sur leur plateforme), y'a aussi un souci c'est qu'en Octobre dernier un de ces paternaires tiers qui font de la vérification d'identité ont eu une brèche de données.

    Je cite (en traduisant) : "Parmi les comptes touchés [par la brèche de données], nous avons identifié environ 70000 utilisateurs dont les photos de pièces d’identité officielles ont pu être divulguées, photos que notre fournisseur a utilisées pour examiner [les demandes au support] liés à l’âge."

  • Thank you for the very in depth response, I must confess I have zero knowledge in 3d printing and my comment was actually a joke about The Witness. Iit's a puzzle heavy video game, and one of those puzzles has you figuring the correct pattern on a screen, by noticing apple tree branches just like the one you printed
