CachyOS for performance, Bazzite for stability. None of key features I've mentioned about these two OSes are overwhelmingly better on each side. Barely makes any difference imo.
My perspective: I fly Bazzite on my main rig (HX99g) and it's been epic. Gaming mode unfortunately doesn't detect 165Hz but desktop mode does. Upsides: seems to run games slightly better than windows, and does most daily computer tasks with ease. Downsides: doesn't run windows native apps. Can be ran though winboat, but say Whatsapp wont have mic unless you add device in settings, but then you'd lose sound of Bazzite.
Other than that, it has been an epic ride. In fact, so good that I have nuked internal SSD windows and clonezilla'd my external Bazzite ssd to internal SSD. Windows hasn't been installed yet. It is in the plans.
Apparently, they gave amateur cartoon animators 1 month to save their works before they will remove Adobe Animate off Adobe Suite. Adobe Flash would give them 3 years, and software would just change slightly. But this time it is not the same.
Most soups take time to cook only by boiling for a while. Preparation usually is quite fast.
My wife does this cheap and fast soup:
Cut potatoes in big chunks
Cut carrots in big chunks
Onions the same way
Add garlic by taste
Meat in same big chunks, preferably beef
add 2 bouillon cubes, salt and pepper by taste, bay leaves and cloves if you have any.
boil for a while, maybe like 20-30 mins.
Enjoy.
Big chunks as in approx 3cm by 3cm cubes. It doesn't make much time to cut veggies like this. I can do this soup alone in less than an hour.
Also, suggest to get rice cooker for a perfect side dish to any meat. Rice is healthy AF and with rice cooker is super easy to prepare to a perfect state. Also also, maybe get a slow cooker. You can throw food inside, set timer to start cooking and leave it til you need food to be done. Or pressure cooker if you want to speedup cooking.
In other words, invest in your kitchen gear. Cooking doesn't take much time and effort if you have gear and tools needed to cook food. Good knives and kitchenware will save you money in a long run.
I see. Just checked a vid of some YouTube animation artist. They just gave Adobe animate 1 month before removing it from suite. Woah... Even Flash had few years to live after a discontinuation announcement.
As a someone who been using either GIMP or pirated CS6 since 2012, havent been keeping hand on an Adobe pulse. What did they do this time? I know about subscription over the one time purchase thing. But what happened recently?
Intel ARC is a GPU brand by Intel that are half the price of a typical Nvidia card at almost the same performance. They been unpopular due to shaky drivers but they have never been canceled. So, stating that Intel will finally enter GPU market is just plain misleading.
Been under a team leader long time ago. She double clicked all web page links. It was the first time I have been silent while witnessing something so outrageous.
Smurfing was probably a side-effect. I remember their main reasoning was to ban people who trash talk in voice comms/chat so they cant just create new account using same number.
My wife once asked me why is it so that on our HTPC there are no ads on YouTube and even on Netflix. Now she's hyped to use YouTube on her phone, tablet and her PC after I installed Revanced on her portables and Firefox with UBO+Sponsorblock on her PC.
I also remember frustration of our teachers in uni when they were showing some videos off youtube as an example for the class.
It may be not so obvious to us, but in reality most of internet users have no such tools installed on their systems. They raw dogging the internet.
Reddit or social media in general should be the last thing we switch, simply because we need to reach as many people as possible. If we give that up too early, the movement dies instantly. You cannot convince people to switch if they can't even see your posts.
640 updoots.
No. We can easily leave. As soon as reddit begins to feel empty and Lemmy begins to feel crowded, people will follow. Staying on Reddit would keep people on reddit.
Also, anyone should actually leave reddit asap. It is too much of a political echo chamber for both parties +since recently is also too bot-crowded. It is doomed to be dead and is already a perfect example of Dead Internet Theory.
PlayStation and Xbox subsidize the cost of the console.
Valve is subsidizing their services that they provide to gamers.
Apple and Google have been having their 30% fees (and the monopolies that allow them) struck down by courts and competition regulators around the world.
They have 15% since 2020 or so. As far as I understood, Apple got sued, then changed the cut% and Google followed shortly after to avoid getting sued. Once app earns more than $1 million, it gets 30% cut again.
Steam provides much more than just a store. Having to print, burn, deliver and sell physical CDs is not cheap. Nor is the service Steam provides that physical discs wont. Also, did you pass over the fact that PS, Xbox, Nintendo, Apple and Google also have charged 30% for their online stores?
Anyone can go get free games at Epic and be happy they save 100% cash on their games. and that is why Epic's user base grew 173% withing last 6 years but with 1.6% revenue growth. If this doesn't make you realize that we pay for a good service, then nothing will.
