  • In a system where you pay once for the game, isn't that a good thing? It lets you enjoy the game for longer instead of making you constantly buy new games, thus spending less money for the same amount of enjoyment.

  • Keyword: infant

  • My local grocery store recently renovated and reorganized the whole store. They placed the rotisserie chickens right by the checkout, next to the impulse purchases rack.

  • I have a lot of stuff going on in my head that needs my full attention. Dinner planning, a work problem that I've been slowly chipping away at, toying with some random ideas, etc.

I understand that for some people, especially if you have ADHD, it can be easier to attend to those thoughts with music and other stimuli present. That is not the case for me.

  • Even then, you can probably trust a source to not lie, but you can't trust them to never get fooled.

  • No need to trust infinite people. You just need to get past 33 forks before you run out of people to operate the switch or to be tied to the tracks.

  • For me, it's a matter of restoring the convenience and UX that you've given up by leaving the big providers.

  • I think this is that the unmodified version looked like

  • I would like to see standardized glass containers. Pay a deposit for them, keep and use them for as long as you like, bring them back in good condition to any participating restaurants to get your deposit back.

  • Quite the conundrum. I work better alone, but I want to go far.

  • If they're disagreeing about objective reality

I always enjoy hearing about how people come to believe what they do. There's pretty much always a logical basis for it and the difference just comes down to their heuristics failing at one particular point and cascading.

  • You don't eat at home?

  • What's more surprising to me is that there's a big enough stream of reviews for a candle to see this effect.

  • The proposed change sounds plenty predictable. A car needs to stop at stop signs, and if you're stopped, then you can also start again without worrying about bikes because you have right of way. At a red light, bikes have to come to a full stop, which gives them time to check if a car is coming or not. A car wouldn't have to worry about this at all.

Edit: It just occurred to me that you can have an intersection where the bike is faced with a stop sign but the car isn't. That would indeed be a problem if the biker doesn't come to a stop. Not enough time to react to a car charging past.

  • Cut them up and eat it with a spoon

  • Isn't growing universities a good thing? It seems to me that giving everyone access to a university education would be highly beneficial to the people.

  • I don't think you're talking about the same thing. There's tuition cost in the sense of what students pay to get an education, and there's what it costs the university to provide that education. You can cap the former. You can't cap the latter.

  • If the port was easily accessible, I would. This problem only comes up when it isn't.
