  • That is a bizarre twist... So a former Muslim who now hates Islam wants to pose as an islamic terrorist, hoping nobody finds out he's anti-islam afterwards, I just don't understand his plan. If he's right about the state of islamic terrorism (which I wouldn't know since I don't live there) he shouldn't have to contribute to it for people to notice

  • I can see how people might get a bit NIMBY about islamic terrorism. But he doesn't even live there, man idk

  • Not to be confused of course with "balls deep", which is exactly what it sounds like

  • I also blocked ml, it just ain't worth it. I figure the cool people will eventually leave for another instance anyways

  • I like to insult and block these people. My fear of course, with Lemmy being so small, is I will block everyone. Then again, that's still better than dealing with illiterate, contrarian assholes

  • I highly doubt he sees it that way, in fact this is also something that has poisoned discourse lately. How is your first assumption that he wants innocent people to die? Like seriously, everyone needs to stop making assumptions like that... it's so extremely unlikely he actually feels that way.

Maybe he's just a bit surprised at the left wing support for a state that hates Jews, women, and gay people. And a state that in large part does endorse the deaths of innocent people and would if they only could. Israel on the other hand wouldn't be doing much right now if they weren't bombed

  • Is that a direct quote?

  • How did it never apply? Palestine isn't exactly progressive, so the fact that progressives support it is actually one of the ways the label doesn't fit him anymore

  • It's just his perception, there are interviews where he explains it and I have no interest in speaking further on his behalf

  • He's still not conservative. He just perceives that the progressive label has changed so quickly that he no longer applies it to himself

Edit: That's quite an echo chamber you guys got here. Would be a shame if any outside opinions found their way in

  • I may have read it wrong but my understanding was Amazon pulled back their own drivers from those zipcodes and delegated their packages to other carriers

  • There's a mission exactly like this in GTA V, you kill the LifeInvader CEO and watch the stock market go brrrrr

  • They mention targeted attacks against drivers in these zip codes. If it's really about race, why stop at those 2?

Not that they should hold out on their promise to subscribers but I don't buy the race angle

  • Racism is a real issue, race is made up and needs to go away. If we divide people arbitrarily using a skin color chart, we're encouraging people's minds to see differences where there aren't and feeding the beast that is racism. We need to recognize the effects of racist behavior, but not play their game

  • I agree 100%. The answer is that people are dumb and like tribalism so they keep it going. Anyone that thinks perpetuating division will result in progress is an idiot, and frankly identity politics are a distraction from real issues like poverty

  • There was time now!

  • This is fine art

  • How do you screen phone calls without voicemail?
