  • It's big reminder of the dark times we live in. We've become insensitive to the school shootings, they have been weighing less and less on "societies collective mind" since Sandy Hook. They're covered for a day, and vanish from the mind.

    This time it was a person most of us knew of and have formed an opinion about. Weather you liked him or not, there is an emotional connection there.

    The stark difference in how people are reacting is chilling. Honestly, its difficult to accept a group cheering on his death to an extreme degree. Making a meme is whatever, but the videos and comments are filled such hate that it is unsettling to witness.

    At the end of the day, he was a dude exercising his free speech. His words may be misguided, but he had his opinions and was willing to debate them with people.

  • Keep it positive and about your goals, and explain why the company you're applying to can fulfill your goals. Focus on the future while sprinkling in something positive about what you did at the past job.

    "While there I accomplished X, however the position did not meet my career goal of Y. I'm looking to join your team as an Z here continue developing my skills in Y.

    Here's an example; you're goal is to be park ranger. Last park only had you doing trash pick up. The park your applying for does all kinds of community engagement/event type stuff.

    "While there I had a fulfilling job keeping the parks clean, however the position was not leading me towards my goal to become a park ranger. I'm looking to join your team as a junior ranger to continue developing my skills for community events and continuing my work of preserving the environment."

    Fluff it up a bit to not sound scripted and you'll be fine.

  • Do you like smoked salmon? The precooked stuff, you can eat it cold, is good with eggs. Can't go wrong with some fresh vegetables (on side or on sandwich) too, tomatos, cucumbers, peppers, carrots or anything.

  • Honestly, its not perfect, but at least I'm not having ai prompts and constant adverts shoved in my face.

    The stock Graphine apps and home launcher are very basic, they didn't focus on them because there are a prethora of better options already out there. For the basics, I recommend lawnchair, fossify gallary, fossify file manager, fossify phone, and open camera. For messages, I've got nothing. Only thing I've found that works right with group chats and sending pictures is google messages...
