  • From my conversations with Trump supporters, they typically acknowledge Trump is a bad choice and don't like the way he acts, talks, etc. They typically view what Trump says as an exaggeration, saying things like "he won't actually xyz".

Universally, people I know that support Trump in real life, support him either because they are Christian, and feel that the Democratic party is against their core values. Or, they feel some kind of hatred against leftists, because of propoganda they have been fed.

That's the way I see reality. There are extremists on both sides, but I refuse to stop believing that Trumpists aren't voting with what they believe is best for America, even if I personally disagree with them.

I really dislike these discussions that paint the other side of a political battle as something insane like Nazi's, that just isn't real, and it makes me so sad to see people either believing it, or feeding the cycle by adding to the joke.

  • Yeah that's fair then, 99.99999+% of leftist don't support assassination. Trump is blowing it out of proportion.

But there are violent radicals inside the homeland, that are Americans. So he has a point somewhat.

  • I like how the top 2 comments imply that all the trump supports are nazi supporters, despite the article explicitly stating that the boat was a known anti-semitic person who has tried to stir shit up in europe as well. There is even a video of trump supporters splashing the boat to try to get them out of the parade: https://twitter.com/i/status/1845629364525846602

I think I'm going to stop interacting with political feeds until after the election. It seems obvious that party politics are in full swing, and everyone is trying to demonize the other by making strawman arguments. Please, just vote logically and for the rights and justifications that are at stake, not because you think your fellow americans that disagree with you are anti-semitic.

  • What would be grounds for lethal action? Self defense against the national guard? An ar-15 won't be able to do much against that. The only option for your own survival is not to play

  • Is it at all possible that the "radical leftist" he is referring to are ones that would potentially react violently to him becoming president? Such as the 2 that have already acted violently by him running as president?

  • Well to this point (I don't 100% believe this flavor of state surveillance theory but) you cannot buy phones made my foreign manufacturers and have them work in the US. For example, Oppo, Huawei, Xiaomi, all do not work on USA cell networks, and you can't buy them unless you go through an import process. Just to name a few of the many. But granted, those are all Chinese manufacturers. EDIT** I was wrong, apparently with the right settings you can get most phones to work on US cell networks

  • I agree with everything you said, but I gotta ask: What is a zeeb?

  • I'm so glad I have a Reddit alternative now like Lemmy. Every news article I see about some corporate move Reddit makes, it seems further and further removed from the community-driven website I had hoped it would be.

  • My gut tells me it's definitely an economic factor. I think it's because the netherlands has towns that are close together, so burying 1 km of electrical cable could potentially serve more people. In texas, possibly, a km of electrical cable will go from the road to someone's house

It's in the numbers too. The netherlands, as a whole, has a population density of 424/km2. Texas has about 1/10th that, at 42.9/km2.

  • Specifically, I think the abilty to make hydrogren from renewable resources at large-scale will change everything. Hydrogen fuel cells are more space efficient, and require less toxic manufacturing, when compared to current renewable energy generation and storage methods. If hydrogen is seen as cheaper or more green than other power sources, it will change the market completely.

Hydrogen generation is also an active research area, and just this year they've have some promising results for renewable hydrogen.
