  • I've used the same IP with an Android phone (even though it's largely neutered). I just assume that means Google knows, that My ISP knows. So the government knows. Palantir knows. Meta knows.

    But, we aren't running communities with millions of people trading crypto and stonks. There's instances that are full on socialists. A pig butchering scam here would founder so badly they would banish anyone foolish enough to try it to redemtuon by spamming the comment sections of cooking blog posts before being summarily executed.

    We have herd immunity.

  • FWIW, The Why Files does a great job of telling the story, then hitting some of the most wobbly points. If there's no direct evidence to fully debunk, they say that. Runs the full gambit of old school to really new stuff. Tons of fun, totally worth the time.

  • It's that there's no incentive to have 80 million bots manipulate everything. Our user base is too small, and likely too jaded about fake internet points to be a target for scammers, ai slop bots, or advertisers.

("It's the gays! They're trying to kill me!" -Lot) 6) Vehicle for lesson from unnamed wife about living in the past, and 7) Be careful about stealing the sperm of descendants of King David! Collectors love the stuff! (this is actually a thing in the ancient and modern world. It's all been Jerry Springer all the time since we learned to write down how trashy people are.)

    Really, the huge infrastructure investments will keep the big 6 above water no matter what. They're on the same track as railroads (haha) circa 1840ish.

    The bubble is a layer down. Entire companies of 3 kids in a trench coast sprouting up like mushrooms and being subsumed in months with $multi-millon valuations which have nothing to really show for it beyond massive dependencies on social media and a refined LLM. Which is mostly par for the course anyway. But so the churn is huge and chaotic, with lots of cash flying around.
