  • Oh I did. I don't believe a goddamned thing they say at face value, especially with the changes to the ToS back in February. The new Mozilla CEO was the General Manager for Firefox previously, so there is no new perspective here.

Until the AI slop update is released and their claims can be independently verified, there's no reason to believe them

  • So they've said. It should be opt-in not opt-out.

How much will they scrape before you turn it off? What will it scoop up immediately on a fresh install? And what will it grab from your system on an existing upgraded install?

Willing to bet the answer to both of those is not "nothing".

Although after the ToS update bullshit earlier this year no idea why anyone even halfway paying attention didn't switch to an alternative that's more privacy focused already.

  • I gotta agree. My 5900X, 32GB of DDR4 and 9070XT should keep me good for the foreseeable future anyway. Would be nice to have 64GB though if only to have more options.

Only downside is that I can't easily upgrade my small home server/NAS which only has 16GB in it. It doesn't really need more, and I can't imagine more services beyond the ones I have on it currently, but it would be nice to have more space there to expand if I want just in case. It was built in microATX case and consumer board though for space and reusing existing components laying around, so only 2 slots which means replacing not adding sticks to upgrade unfortunately.

  • *Demand includes an undisclosed amount of supply earmarked for AI firms, with no set price, or buy guarantee and could change at any point in time. But they gave a pinky promise and have billions of dollars in funds that could disappear overnight, so it's legit.

  • So you assume that every dog in existence has fleas? Can't be around any dogs whatsoever at any point for fear of getting fleas? Shitty analogy for the situation.

Better hope none of your old friends from say high school or college that you haven't seen for years end up being sexual predators at any point in time. Might have photos taken with them that others will see and assume you knew what was going on because you were with them. Especially if they were doing that at the time.

  • The reason is simple. It's become very obvious very quickly that unless you have billions to develop your own model, and a way to lock users in, there is no way you're ever going to have a chance at making it back. They're trying to save themselves from making a bad knee jerk reaction.

But they can't admit that, so they're trying to hide it however possible and mitigate the financial damage at the cost of anything else they can use.

  • I've never had that issue with catbox, literally the exact opposite, on any account or VPN connection I've used. Easily have loaded hundreds of thousands of catbox links, both images and videos.

So much so that I look for those links over others when there are content mirrors because they have been more reliable from my experience.

  • It is important to remember that simply being in a photo with Epstein isn't evidence they were a part of what was happening or knew about it. Being at the same generic rich person party as Epstein isn't damning by itself.

Epstein traveled in elite circles and obviously wanted to flaunt that access as much as possible. He was everywhere the money was, he worked in Finance for decades.

Likewise, almost surely not all visits to his Island were related to his sexual trafficking business.

Context is important, and that's why actual investigations into all of these connections are important as well.

  • More likely a massive amount of it is food waste from restaurants. And most restaurants don't donate anything at the end of the day.

  • Not sure what you expected there, Coca Cola is a Southern company. If they didn't support systemic racism while trying to have clean PR it would be news.

  • Because the building name doesn't affect their billionaire megadonors.

  • Sorry, the tip melted off over a decade ago from global warming. Do you have another analogy?

  • The overview effect is a cognitive shift reported by some astronauts while viewing the Earth from space. Researchers have characterized the effect as "a state of awe with self-transcendent qualities, precipitated by a particularly striking visual stimulus". The most prominent common aspects of personally experiencing the Earth from space are appreciation and perception of beauty, unexpected and even overwhelming emotion, and an increased sense of connection to other people and the Earth as a whole. The effect can cause changes in the observer's self concept and value system, and can be transformative.

  • Tesla has reportedly thrown a “Giga-Event” for its employees at Gigafactory Berlin, featuring German rapper Kool Savas.

  • Pepsi also is still operating and even expanding their operations in Russia as competitors like Coca Cola have withdrawn after the Ukraine War.

  • Nearly 80% of the Mozilla Foundation's funds come from Google.

It's not a secret, or even partially hidden who might be pushing for this.

  • This one actually does make sense. He actually knows what the fuck is going on. He's not just a stooge trying to cozy up to Trump.

He has experience with NASA, space contractors, and has been in space performing research for NASA. The Overview Effect shouldn't be discounted.

  • That's the official definition now that the Israeli government has been pushing for almost a year, to try and shield zionists from legitimate criticism. They're trying to muddy the waters, and what it's doing is making every Jew worldwide a target, and when there are attacks of any kind, they claim anti-Semitism... Making it impossible to tell anymore what's actually anti-Semetic in general and what's intended to be anti-Israel.

  • Not only the setting off, but any sort of behind the scenes stuff related to it disabled as well. No automatic updating, no background processes to "keep it ready, just in case". Do that when it's enabled.

  • It's for the default search, but it also has the side benefit of ensuring a secondary browser with decent market share that's not Chromium-based they can point to claiming they're not a monopoly.
