  • Maybe don't lease solar panels installed on your own home, and definitely watch out for purchasing panels through a loan from the provider/installer such that it allows a lien on your property.

Look into community solar if it's available in your area! It doesn't matter if you own a house or even if your space is a good place to put solar panels. You can buy into these bigger, more efficient projects and get the benefit on your electric bill.

  • Extra funny when you learn what Chat GPT sounds like in French (chat, j'ai pété)

  • The goal isn't to actually prevent those people from playing the game, obviously that's not possible. The goal is to piss them off so it's obvious to the other people they would be playing with that they are not fun or maybe safe to be around.

  • Slander, our sun isn't even big enough to super nova!

  • Beautiful! I love the moss stitch, it's very easy to get into a groove with and has a really nice texture as a result.

If you're worried about the increase/decrease being noticeable, I'd recommend a border! The more elaborate, the more it'll disguise any defect (so limited results from a single stitch border and better results with scalloped for instance). But also don't forget, you always have to have at least one error in your work or else you'll trap your soul in it 😉

  • As I understand it, the reason sheep are so good is that they don't graze up, so they're unlikely to try munching on any power cords (unlike goats). I don't know enough about cows to say definitively, but my guess is that you're going to need the solar panels up high enough for them to be comfortable, and also sturdy enough that a leaning cow won't knock them over. So it may work but the additional considerations could prove more expensive.

  • In what world could this be interpreted as progressive?

  • They are often in red areas of blue states as well, simply from a population density perspective. You don't put large turbines in cities, it would be unsafe (all turbines need to have a certain distance from other structures including other turbines in case they fall over or launch ice from their blades or something).

  • I think you're correct, if Trump orchestrates all of that (Sliwa and Adams both dropping out) without explicitly endorsing, that could be a threat. But Trump is toxic waste in NYC. Of course everywhere has their share of assholes, but NYers have a long memory for crises specifically. Trump deliberately targeted them during covid, bragged about his building height during 9/11, I could go on. They hate his guts way more than they hate Cuomo.

  • I can't think of anything more campaign sinking than an endorsement from Trump in an NYC mayoral race (that Cuomo already lost within his own proported party).

  • Recycling plastics specifically. Aluminum recycles amazingly well, and glass decently, so keep recycling those!

  • I agree with the general trend of advice in this thread, but I'm going to go one step further: monetizing your hobbies is a very good way to get burnt out on those hobbies. Finding good work that you enjoy is important! But you should also have some things that are just for you.

  • Some people are asexual but not aromantic, and some people can't have sex due to medical issues, so there are plenty of people out there who separate these! A lot of folks do experience them as entangled experiences, and that's fine too. What's important is finding what parts work for you, and a partner that is compatible with that if applicable.

  • Cadmium telluride might also be of interest

  • Not to defend the US on pretty much anything, but there's basically tiers of chocolate. Low quality mass produced chocolate (hershey's, kit kat, etc) is almost always waxy, overly sweet, and sometimes has that weird butyric acid additive. Mid tier is like your Ghirardelli: popular nationally but more expensive than your low tier chocolate, still often quite sweet but you can at least get dark chocolate. High tier is usually regional artisan chocolate. I like Theo in the PNW but I think that's going national lately.

All of this is NOT a recommendation to buy these chocolates of course. Go get Tony's Chocolonely if you can find it.

  • Not a valid excuse, at least

  • I'm obviously not talking about being a dick to billionaires, I'm talking about harassing a burnt out instance owner
