  • I really wish there was more evolution in anime. I used to like it a lot but I've grown to really dislike the art style because it's so homogenous. I'm sure I'm missing out on great stories but I'm so damn bored of cookie cutter kawaii characters

    I know that's not every anime so no need to reply with the exceptions to the rule. The two most popular styles are "generic anime" (this) and "chibi anime" (creepy/gross)

  • Legally, it is attempted fraud. He got caught and it's only "fraud" if the damage is done. But "attempted fraud" isn't nothing and he's getting hit with multiple charges.

    The thing we should be mad about is the possibility that he won't have a felony on his record (the judge can decide if it's a felony after his probationary period, as explained in the article)

  • It only looks sloppy because there's no method to the madness. You just need some lacing bars and it'll look AWESOME! I used to build racks for work and cleanliness was my thing. Here's how to properly use lacing bars:

    1. Put a lacing bar behind every piece of equipment. Wires should run straight back to it then run left or right, Velcro to the vertical bars, and onto the next lacing bar. The only "floating" wires should be from device to lacing bar, everything else is attached to something
    2. Pick which side is for power. Power wires are run on that side, everything else goes on the other
    3. VELCRO STRAPS instead of zip ties. The only acceptable place for zip ties is DC power cords...but do it right by the brick or device, never the middle
    4. With premade cables, slack can be hidden on the vertical rails. Never the lacing bar or in the air!
    5. Labels are really nice if you can swing it. I quit that job so I don't have a label maker anymore

    Or if you can swing it, I've been LOVING my ultra-ultrawide. It's equivalent to two 27" displays (32:9) as opposed to the standard 21:9.

  • The article is paywalled but the gist is in the tagline: people kept peanuts but babies for fear of allergies but lack of exposure leads to allergies.

    I've been casually following this for awhile so here's some further insight: peanut allergies were on the rise worldwide except in one place...Israel.

    Have you ever seen those "puffs" baby snacks? They're like Cheeto Puffs but made for babies. Easier to eat with a weaker flavor. They're popular across the world but there's a brand with a peanut variety that sells particularly well in Israeli.

    After realizing the connection, they started studying it. I am assuming this article is the conclusion of that study.

  • I didn't necessarily think one will lead to the other, I just think they're two bubbles overdue for popping.

    Boomers are dying, or at least liquidating their wealth. They want maximum profit from their homes but they're gonna have a really hard time selling with the rising prices and fewer buyers.

    I stand to lose with my prediction. Most of my "wealth" is the value of my house...but it needs to happen. And I want it to happen before they die so they can feel some pain from the issues their hoarding has caused

    Downvote me all you want but there's there's literally 4 posts about men on the frontpage. The community should be a safe space for women to talk about men but don't misrepresent it as a place to forget about men

  • I think it'll happen within 2 years and I think the housing market will collapse around the same time.

    Not sure if I WANT to be right but that's my prediction. Two major bubbles popping back to back.
