Similar to why I switched my laptop. It wouldn't react to any input for sometimes up to 5 minutes. I thought it was just broken beyond repair. Put on MINT to test it, now I can finally use the old mill again!
The things that burden you take a toll on you, doesn't matter how often you've explained them to someone or talked about it in general. This desire is good, even if it doesn't seem that way. You need solutions for the problems/difficulties that you're having.

Possibly, yes (?) I know it's also one of the symptoms for (co-)PTSD and a bunch of other mental health related things, so who knows. Anyway, it sucks, this feeling, and I totally get it.

I mean, it is Foundation, just not Asimov's books. It takes stuff from the books, modifies it, sometimes leaves it out, and adds somethings new - just like adaptations do. Some adaptations are close to the source material, others are just adaptations in name only. You don't like this one, while I do, and both is ok.
Seriously, I totally get being pissed at unfaithful adaptations, I think it's deeply human. Still, despite this, I think that this show was working at a huge disadvantage. You don't just easily adapt Asimov to the big screen, so they did what they could.
