...also, I like bad puns

  • When I find myself in times of trouble / un_mask_me comes to me / speaking words of widom / You are loved. / And in my hour of darkness / they are standing right in front of me / speaking words of wisdom / You are loved.

  • ...how do you have this happen and not investigate this from the university's side? Like, hello, you should care the most about the workplace being safe???

How often do you have to go to this lab area?

  • You're not a girlfailure sweetie, nor a failure in any other sense. Come here

Going by personal experience with sleeping way too much, have you got your blood checked for any deficiencies lately? I know for me it was a huuuuge lack of vitamin D and iron, where the supplements ultimately helped me with literally wanting to sleep less and feeling good about it. (Now I'll just daydream more and feel better in general.) Maybe this'll help you too.

But in all honesty, looking at the world around us, I can also fully understand wanting to dream and sleep more. Dreams are a really nice getaway that doesn't cost money, so I can relate.

  • Holy shit

  • You are welcome here, anytime you'd like to post <3

I feel for your struggle, friend, and I can only try to imagine how confusing your time perception has to be. Have your doctors told you if there's a chance it could normalize again?

I also want to let you know that you are neither stupid nor a burden. You have a disability that impacts you severely. And that feeling of helplessness is one many of us in this community share. While we can't make the issues go away, we can listen and give each other the space to talk about it and not feel so alone with our problems.

Thank you for sharing your story, and we're happy to have you

  • Yep, I think so too

  • HUAAAGH

    Jump
  • That lil bean tongue will always get me

  • I couldn't agree more, this is exactly what it's like.

  • So in case you ever wondered what white germans talk to eachother about, it's 60% racism, 30% misogyny and 10% how bad the weather is.

Can confirm, that's exactly it. At this point, I'm glad when I go outside and people are only talking about the weather. It's almost impossible to talk to them about their fucked up world view, since most of them refuse to even acknowledge their racism or misogyny, let alone both.

  • May they rot in shit 😂

  • Thank you for thr new mega

  • You're welcome! One important note on van der Kolk, there's mention of SA (specifically redacted), so if that is something that could trigger your loved one, you should tell them. There's a few chapters that deal with this topic, both from the abuser's and the victim's side. It's not an easy read and it made me cry and ball up a few times. It's absolutely cathartic, but it's not a gentle read.

I hope it helps, and again, you're very welcome

  • Thank you. To be honest, the bus was probably the best part about the whole thing haha

  • Despite a lot of the (justified) negative criticism, Bessel van der Kolk's definition of (c)PTSD in The Body Keeps The Score is highly educational and helped me a lot. I'm sure there's better and more empathetic sources but I remember reading van der Kolk and finally being able to name feelings and thoughts I've had for ages for the first time.

As for BPD, I once read the book Stop Walking On Eggshells by Paul T. Mason and Randi Krieger. It's been almost a decade since I read it, and it doesn't necessarily have the kindest take on BPD, but it also was pretty clear that women get diagnosed with BPD way more often than men. I appreciate that, even though the book itself is mostly targeted at people trying to protect themselves from abusive BPD behavior. Take it with a spoon of salt, but the book is not as judgemental as the stuff I found on reddit. (The bar is very low, however.)

  • Feel that one in my soul. I want a universal job guarantee if we're all supposed to work, not whatever this shit is. Sorry you got turned down again, I hope the next one will turn out in your favor.

  • Life's been fucking ridiculously busy these last two weeks. Doctor's appointments, some successful, others marginally so, but on the upside, I will finally get a therapist - only because of endometriosis and the associated pain, but hey, better this way than having to wait for months and years. The doctor told me that a comprehensive pain management therapy requires mental therapy as well as physical therapy, meaning pain relief as well as very light exercise IF it helps. Not sure if this'll work, but they at least don't deny I am in pain, so that's a success in my books. Also had a job interview that went suspiciously well and I'm teetering on the edge between "They were just being nice" and "They might actually hire me". Will be hearing from them next week, so at least I won't have to wait for too long for a reply. And as a final note, I was really happy today because I finally got to ride on a bus again. I always loved riding on buses as a kid, and it brings back fond memories.

I hope that all of you can hold on and make things work in some way. I believe in you, and I love you.

  • You should be entitled to kick his ass.

    And I'm so sorry Leroy

  • And it's only getting worse, unfortunately

  • I'm rooting for you!
