  • Same with crows.

  • Women are the most vulnerable in the world because they have no choice.

    Wow…

  • The market is anything but free when the price to entry is so high and the big wigs get bailed out constantly. Yes, I agree that farmers should be subsidized, but if we do that, we do not have a “free market” and we shouldn’t.

  • Even if every ingredient doubled in cost (same as domestic inflation) and profit is a 1/6 of the burrito, we wouldn’t even be at $4. This is corporate greed.

  • Exactly what I was missing from Reddit. I understand the joke from just browsing all. I love this.

  • I listen to a podcast called “No Dumb Questions” and they have a bit every once in a while called “Barnacles and Testicles” (pronounced like Greek names) where they voice these time traveling Grecians and just be funny and stupid.

  • Sorry, unrelated, but my Lemmy client says that you have “-1” downvotes and 49 upvotes. How is that even possible? It should only be a positive integer. On the web client, it shows nothing for downvotes, but says 48 upvotes instead of 49…

  • But really! In Japan, most people do 3 stars for great service. Most good businesses have 2.5-3.5 stars.

  • Yea, I’m not a member, but I saw a queer artist in Seattle handing out these zines and skimmed it. Super bummed about it because TST seems so good work otherwise.

  • Hell yea! Us furries are fun.

I saw you said you’re satanic? Judging by being on Lemmy, do you mean TST? If so, you should check this out: https://queersatanic.com/

TLDR: TST is run by two guys who are suing 4 former members for criticism on Facebook. They’re also suing news sites for even reporting on this. The leaders of TST are big babies that keep refiling the lawsuit to drain the defendants of money.

  • Maybe I’m just lucky in where I am in a FAANG company, because I’ve only been offered mobility in my job, even directly after a promotion! We encourage work across the organization, but we have like 500 devs in this org.

  • Yea, I had my phone taken a few times in school. It’s fine.

But I was programming on my calculator more. My history teacher was the only one to say anything about it since it was very distracting for me. But he never took it.

  • I took it as bronies and furries work together on Linux distros, so you’re missing half the team, not the full team.

But most bronies I know are getting into the furry fandom, myself included.

  • How is Apple Pay just as bad? I haven’t heard anything that they do like this. There is no advertising in the Apple ecosystem. In fact, several places (like Walmart) don’t want to adopt the tap to pay because for some cards, it blocks tracking from them by using a pseudo randomized credit card number every time. It makes using the rewards for places a pain, but it works at maintaining harder tracking for whoever you’re paying.

  • It’s more of an example how a more popular candidate can lose because RCV still depends on first past the post and isn’t that much better. It’s not translated by points. Everyone gets #1 first. If anyone has 51%, they win and we’re done. If no one has 51%, then we eliminate the least popular candidate, transferring the votes. This continues until one is at 51%. RCV is a bandaid.

Check out this CGP Grey video about RCV: https://youtu.be/3Y3jE3B8HsE

  • You total all of the points. So say 100 people with the 51/49 doing A/B at 5, and all 100 do C at 4. A would have 255 points, B would have 245 points, and C would have 400. C wins by a landslide.

  • You can rank every candidate, so you can give multiple people 5’s. If you can’t decide between them. In RCV, if 51% vote #1 for candidate A, 49% vote #1 for candidate B, but 100% vote #2 for candidate C, the winner is still candidate A even though everyone voted for C. Everyone would’ve been a little satisfied. In STAR, if everyone put 4’s for C, they would win.

  • STAR voting is so much better than RCV. RCV is only marginally better than first past the post.

  • Yea, last time I tired, you have to connect to its personal wifi hotspot and download them via the app. It’s so backwards!
