Except Germany keeps delivering weapons to Israel, gives them diplomatic and political coverage, and apparently even has planes in the air to support Israeli fighter jets in their attacks on Iran.

Both are awful, but playing the centrist here doesn’t cut it. Picking indifference is pretty much the same as picking the imperialist side, aka it’s the same as supporting Israel and the US but instead of cheering them on you just sit on the fence and watch.
For those of us that live in The West™ the only thing we can change is the things our governments can influence. Thus, the only change we can enact as a population for the situation in the Middle East is the change that takes form by pressuring our own governments (and thus pressuring allied US and allied Israel) into stopping the madness. Going out and about and moaning about Iran is just useless posturing that won’t lead do anything. Our governments are already trying to destroy Iran as is, what does me moaning about whatever Iran does even change? It’s still the same shit.
And besides that, it’s not even our business to enact regime change in Iran. Let their own people deal with it however they see fit. We’re not savior knights in shining armors going around and helping people anyway. We’ve seen what kind of shit our governments have stirred up in the Middle East and North Africa before. We’ve only made everything worse for the people there.

Apple and Google app stores still offer China-based VPNs.English51·2 days agoBecause China doesn’t have as much influence in Europe as the US does. Besides that, there’s a higher chance of US companies sharing data with European governments than Chinese companies doing so.

Right, so go on and support genocidal Israel, because it’s soooo much better than authoritarian Iran.

Because the sole nature of Lemmy is political. The whole reason it exists is political. People want to move away from tech oligarchs and take control of their own spaces, of their data. Rotting on Reddit while all your data is being harvested and your interactions get turned into shareholder value is very convenient. Being on Lemmy is inconvenient (although it has become less so over the last year). So if you’re willing to ditch a very convenient platform because of your beliefs, and move to a platform that aligns more closely with said beliefs, then it’s fairly obvious why said platform is so political in nature.

Even diplomatic cables at the time either leaked or declassified prove that.
I grew up in a conservative, right-wing, rural environment, and have moved slowly from being moderately right-wing in school, to a neoliberal in college, to a socdem, a socialist, and eventually marxist leninist after college. I am quite comfortable with where I’m at right now. I am willing to continue learning, and I have learned quite a lot over the years. I read a fair amount on all of my prior political convictions, and I don’t shy away from discussing everything I stand for.
I used to be a neoliberal.

Other car companies have a much higher production rate, sell more cars, at a much better quality, and have more market share, yet don’t “enjoy” the same kind of market valuation. In Germany, Teslas are on par with Dacia in terms of production quality, yet Dacia sells cars at a fraction of the cost of Tesla. In other words, it’s a bubble. One way or another, it will burst, and if it takes the nazi boss in charge down with it, even better.
No, because apparently Israel is allowed to step over the territorial integrity and sovereignty of any country, conduct illegal assassinations wherever they deem fit, destroy diplomatic facilities protected under international law, and anyone that claims otherwise is a dirty antisemite, khamas, and needs to be killed with a two thousand pounds bomb along with their entire lineage.
