  • This is beautiful and really interesting - and I like the style and idea. I hope, for your sanity, you used a bit of 'copy and paste' with the rotational symmetry :)

If this is a digital work, can it be recoloured easily? I feel like it's the sort of thing which would look particularly strong with a flat (no glow/gradient) light-on-dark colour scheme, for example 'white on black' or 'gold on black'.

Anyway, it's a lovely piece of work, and if you have more of them, it'd be great to see them too.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • Ooh... actual physical mouse buttons!

  • I saw the first one pretty quickly, but it took me ages to spot the second one.

  • At their heart, most distros are approximately "made of the same stuff". There's differences in package management in the background (e.g. how the "software centre" works), but essentially the difference between a "gaming distro", "normal distro" and "creative distro" is just what programs are installed by default, and how a few things are set up by default.

Nothing stops me playing games on Mint (and historically, Ubuntu and Ubuntu Studio) - and likewise, nothing will stop you installing office programs, audio/video/graphics programs etc on something presented as a gaming distro.

  • That makes a lot of sense. Very good idea.

  • This is great - also, now there is a solid reference for starfish anatomy :)

  • There's a sort of order from least to most destructive:

Exactly correct driver >using an elastic band or other thin piece of rubber, between driver and screw, for grip >different screwdriver that fits differently (e.g. a small flat driver in any cross-headed screw) >again, with elastic/rubber >other, unlikely drivers >other grippy options, like steel wool >superglue the driver to the screw >epoxy resin a driver to the screw >cut a new flat-head into the screw head with a dremel >use a screw extracting bit >drill out the screw head >cut or drill out the plastic surround

I'm sure there's other options I've not remembered. A lot of it depends on which screw is stuck, and how accessible it is.

  • Cool. Put controls and regulation on the stock exchange, investment banking "venture capitalism".

Oh, you didn't mean that? Do you just mean "poor people gambling", where people gamble with their own money?

  • All meals in Britain are called "dinner" somewhere in the country :)

  • Hmm…

  • Thanks. I tend to worry with redesigns these days.

  • (Based on the screenshot only) Where's the menu gone?

  • Tim is an enchanter, who warns them about the dangerous rabbit. He's a separate weird-guy-with-a-cloak than the keeper of the bridge.

  • I find that joining pieces of sheet metal together with compressed mechanical fittings is riveting.

  • They've changed "alleged" to "aged", to make it more accurate.

  • And we call Mar-a-Lago "Gulf of Pedophiles".

  • But the "U" is in the middle. Don't acronyms tend to follow something like "the first letter is pronounced like the word it is based on, then the rest of it is pronounced in the way which sounds like the 'coolest' or 'easiest to say' word"?

  • Beautifully done.
