  • Yeah people act like squirrels behind the wheel its terrifying. Big part of why I stopped riding my motorcycle. There was this one intersection where everyday, without fail, a car would go through the light, get up to speed, look at there phone and drift onto the wrong side of the road. Everyday.

    So one day I'm sitting waiting to make a left and I can see the person across from me looking at their phone. Light doesn't recognize my bike so I just gotta let it cycle before I go. Guy gets a green and starts driving without looking up. Just slowly drifting straight towards me. Eventually I hop off and just try to put the bike between me and the car and brace for impact. Guy looks up at the last second gives a little "teehee you caught me" smirk as he veers back into his lane.

    I have seen that exact smirk so many times. Its the exact same on everyone

  • Pretty much what my answer would be. Sometimes I'll run into someone way off the deep end on the right and I'll ask 'how did they get like this'. The answer is "why would they be any different". If your whole life is just church, AM radio, fox, its hard to end up any other way. Something really has to knock you off course.

    It's the same on the left. Chomsky, Orwell, etc are the "safe" "reasonable" avenue you're presented if you lean left and aren't satisfied by mainstream politics. Anarcho-bidenism is where you're supposed to end up, why would you be any different?

    As usual with studies such as this, the link isn't enough to prove causation – that is, the data don't show it's definitely antibiotic use that's leading to a drop in cognition. It's possible that the conditions the antibiotics were intended to treat, rather than the antibiotics themselves, caused this small drop in cognition, for example
