Because they weren't made as stylish. If you had that exact same tv, but with wood-style paneling and the occasional velvet lining, it would be exactly as charming. Nice style has been phased out over time, being reserved for extremely expensive versions of appliances instead of being the standard.
And like, that's not to say there's literally no nice style in anything these days, but the average product tends to look... bland and cheap.
Honestly, I think some of them have simply been off windows so long that they only know issues they've seen in the news, and not used the relatively smooth experience you get. Like, I swapped to Linux not too long ago. Windows was MOSTLY easier to use, but it was getting to invasive for my tastes.
If you find Linux easier to use day-to-day, you're either
A) much better than the average person at getting an intuition for all the options and controls
B) doing something fairly uncommon where windows just falls short
C) simply so used to Linux over Windows that you have a better intuition on how to handle Linux
And, like, sure there are specific tasks where one OS is just going to grant a smoother experience, but if we're talking most general usage, Windows will be such a smooth use for the average user.
I remember when Russia cut itself off from the internet for like 3 days, and virtually every social media site I frequented was a lot calmer and nicer for those days. It was surreal seeing how fucking much of the internet is just Russia.
That change was actually really sad to see. Conspiracy used to actually have some fun conspiracies, even if most were ultimately a bit too outlandish or unprovable. Now it's just your standard deep-state conspiracy shit.
If prosecuting everyone in the files causes the collapse of the system, that kinda implies the system is bad and needs collapse.
