  • the un vote is definitely damning and it's anemic support for people in the global north's periphery is concerning, but it doesn't yet make for a imperialist-friendly pattern imo.

  • i could take guesses, but it's better that you ask them yourself and you can do so through the link i shared.

  • the gazans are part of the global south and china fucked them over yesterday

  • a "no" vote at the un security council could have been the bare bones minimum, but they chose to look the other way by abstaining.

the next biggest step is to do the same thing that the united states and russia have been doing for decades in vetoing the resolution altogether; but they didn't do that either.

instead, they just passively went along with agreeing to yet another genocidal colonial stewardship over another group of indigenous people.

  • it finances and builds isreali infrastructure that's used in the gazan genocide. that coupled with it's recent unwillingness to exercise their veto power in the un security council's vote in colonial stewardship over gaza leads to this conclusion; they didn't even bother to vote "no" at a minimum.

  • entrenchment of the working class to support the capitalist class, against their own working class interests. They keep selling us the pipe dream but the few rewarding hits keep us coming back for more.

i think that the scope of the entrenchment is bigger than the working class and its exemplified by how even rational and/or rich people believe in it.

  • the most troubling aspect of this is how even the opposition (aka russia) and the biggest socialist power (aka china) are in accordance with this 4th mass genocide and ethnic cleansing of indigenous people committed by the anglosphere.

  • it's one of those things were everyone knows is wrong; but we go along with it anyways because that's "how the system works"

  • my family exists at the full range of this spectrum and the ones in the "easy" settings used to share their experiences with me; now most of them are maga friendly and don't share any of it anymore.

  • Ukraine was not “like Iraq or Afghanistan”. Ukrainians were “civilised”, they were “European”, they “watch Netflix and have Instagram”, they looked like “us”.

There we had it. It was out in the open. This was how western journalists, whether they would admit it or not, viewed the world. That racism, often hidden, informed which stories got covered and which ones got ignored.

a majority of my family members are white passing and they used to share with me the racists things people would say to them when they assumed that they were white like them and the most troubling things that they shared were how commonly those beliefs were shared.

i remember it from time to time and more show now that they've gone into the maga fold themselves.

  • i was wondering how california's response was block by the doj; but texas' was allowed to take place.

  • but the ceo's will get off scott free and leave their underlings to be hanged. lol

  • verifiable american propaganda is a very difficult pill for westerners to swallow; so most, like you, don't bother.

  • i just added it and it doesn't show a lemy feed; how did you get yours to work on lemmy?

  • tupac always fascinating to me because he had all of the trappings of liberal disposition like being in the liberals arts at a very expensive an exclusive institution (aka dance major at juiliard); and undeniable connection to leftism through his godmother, assata shakur; but produced misogynistic music and espoused homophobic sentiments.

  • seeing china's anemic support for latin-american countries trying to shake off the yoke of the us empire's control makes me pessimistic about brics ever gain the upper hand over the g8, despite it's manufacturing strength and outsized economies.

i tried telling myself that they're playing the long game by not overly antagonizing the current world's super power while it's still powerful enough to stop them as i watched these anemic displays; but it's difficult to keep drawing this conclusion now that they've diplomatically given the green light to the 4th mass indigenous genocide & ethnic cleansing by the anglosphere.

  • it's going to be interesting to see how they'll keep hiding general isreali disposition when it comes to palestinians in the future.

current day american propaganda success can be best exemplified by american's general ignorance of nation wide 3rd party victories in mexico since 2018; while americans still firmly believe that 3rd paries are unrealistic despite a living, breathing example of an alternative literally existing next door.

i get the sense that the isrealis are better propagandists than the americans and social media shows us all how much more propagandized isrealis are than americans; so i don't doubt it'll work.

  • worse than weapons of mass distraction. lol

i wonder which well respected public figure they're going to get to publicly compromise his morals for this time, like this guy last time.

  • i tried breaking this cycle by signing up for a job that's different from the previous ones and less proned to layoffs.

it's only been a couple months, but so far so good.
