  • If they're not at Morton's Harbour, you could try checking all around the circle.

  • Nothing against the artist, they're obviously highly skilled, but this (and other) character art is the biggest barrier to me wanting to try BG3.

I really don't like it and have a hard time putting the reasons why into words. At the very least, the sneering smile, the hand gesture.. It's all too much. Feels like a Marvel movie poster.

  • I reconnected with my lifelong friend last weekend and it was great. It's been about 4 or 5 years. Turns out we'd both gone through a lot of the same shit in that time and were able to share the trauma.

  • Number keeps going up

  • Yes. Most of them are "fentanyl zombie" followed by a number.

  • It sounds interesting to me. Whether or not I would play it myself depends on knowing more or playing a demo since it's not the type of game I usually play, but if someone I know or one of the few streamers I follow was into it I would definitely be interested to watch.

I think it's important to make the game you want to make and trust your vision. It looks good so far and I'm following you on Steam now to keep an eye on it. Good luck!

  • Maybe a hot take, but I've never really found horror to be scary at any age. I enjoy it more for the tension and suspense. And cool shit that happens in dark fantastical settings. In fact a lot of movies lose their edge when they reveal "the monster". It's better to imagine or only have a slight glimpse, or else it risks getting cheesy.

  • Following protests throughout Spain in 2024, tourist arrivals increased 4.1% in the first seven months of 2025, according to its National Statistics Institute.

And it's going up still, despite it being an issue before this year. It's interesting that there's still an increase despite the pushback.

  • Makes me wonder if people who would have otherwise travelled to the US but decided not to are upping the numbers elsewhere.

  • You sure it's not this?

  • Pardon me for checking your post history, but I noticed you've posted in the Canada community and therefore you might be Canadian. Is it possible you've been eating more local fruit this year due to boycotts? I wonder if there's some relation.

I noticed my Ontario blueberries were very sweet this year, compared to the imported ones I've had in the past that could be somewhat bitter or tart. I have no evidence if this is a reason why they're sweeter though, I'm just guessing.

  • Probably Elden Ring. There's a lot of depth to the characters and their motivations. There's a lot to uncover about characters, thinking of Morgott, Seluvis, Marika, just to name a few. Compared to something like Dark Souls where the characters just aren't as deep for the most part.

Next closest for me is DS2. Yes it's basically a continuation of the cycle, but I like that we get to examine a middle slice of it. We get to meet and talk to Vendrick and understand him a bit more, compared to Gwyn who doesn't talk to us. The giant's memories let us actually play some of the back story. Aldia brings up the philosophical nature of the cycle in a deeper way than the other games. We also get some NPCs with character arcs like Lucatiel, and even the ones who are basically static like Vengarl's head and Cale feel alive and thought out. It feels like you're actually watching them succumb to the curse rather than just "save them and now they're a merchant". Then there's Pursuer and Forlorn and Navlaan who fucking hate you and will hunt you to the end of the earth.

I think DS1 and DS3 are weakest, for me, because they're pretty straightforward. Not that that makes the story bad. I like them, but they feel kind of one-and-done. Anri's quest being an exception, and Ringed City DLC too. But otherwise the best they really offer is their onion knight quests. There's lore but it's just a spoonful for each character.

  • Does your partner want a horse, or is it just you?

  • You're telling me you never get in a silly mood and put on some In Flames? But only old In Flames, not that new shit.

  • I'm absolutely "the gatekeeper", but these days I like to keep the gate open and welcome newcomers who are interested in hearing an old man's ramblings.
