  • I'm the same as you. Even if I want something and can afford it, I will hold back longer than necessary. Sometimes I just don't end up buying the thing, and I'm fine.

It's much easier to justify practical purchases, or just save the money. I think this comes from living with financial struggles and wanting to be prepared.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, and it may be beneficial to be frugal and picky about your spending. Clearly it's working if your budget is planned and in action. Just remember it's ok to treat yourself once in a while and enjoy it.

  • Just finished Code Vein and enjoyed it. Might go back and get the different endings. I was unsure about the game, but I got 40 hours out of it for like $10 and it was pretty memorable with some good boss fights. The character customization goes pretty deep and I'm proud of my character, a little antler bee girl with giant... Zweihander

My only piece of soulslike merch is this Tunic plushie I received a few weeks ago. The sword and shield are magnetic. I have already accepted that once I get cat(s) the accessories will become their toys.

  • It's really weird. The type of thing a 5 year old would think of and find funny. He said he came up with these with his kids, and I could believe that. But why didn't his adult brain think that maybe this is something silly to keep to the family, rather than post online?

  • Preorder, no. I don't usually buy brand new games. FF Tactics remake was the most recent and I needed to see a few days of reviews to build the trust to buy it. Maybe if Fromsoft releases another one-player game I'll consider that. I'm not sure the types of developers I usually buy games from tend to even do preorder, it seems to be bigger studios from what I have seen.

Early access, yes for a few select indie developers that I want to support. ATLYSS because it's priced low and looks great. Into the Unwell will be a day 1 purchase once it reaches early access, since I have played the closed beta and know I want it. Trinity 64 will be another one I'm excited for if it gets an EA release. I'm ok with EA for these because they're the types of games I yearn for and I want more of them, and I know my contribution makes an impact to the devs.

  • I like getting up on Najka's back because it's easy and funny and she has no idea how to react

  • I recently had a weird craving for ginger ale with whipped cream. Turns out it's quite good.

  • Bread making is great. It's cheap, easy, and you get bread whenever you want it. It's also a skill to develop to make better loaves. It's good to know in case of emergencies or food shortages. It costs less and is healthier than the junk at the store. It's also incredibly manly to be able to provide for yourself and others with your own two hands. Make bread.

  • It looks great and it's been on my wishlist. Unfortunately the price is not right for me yet, and there were other games of higher priority on my wishlist for now. Maybe next year.

  • Same. I'm just happy to be here.

  • Since bonfire ascetic was already mentioned, I'll pick upgradable armour. It just makes sense.

  • I'm playing Code Vein. The souls influence is apparent, and I'm also seeing things that make me think it influenced other souls games in return. The class system and customizability is a great. You can switch your class at any time and with experience memorize traits and use them in other classes. Pretty good for an anime game.

  • What the AI did isn't something you can't do with practice. Besides, you probably wouldn't have put the belt buckle on the back of the pants. Believe in yourself and work at it.
