I’ll throw my vote in for Bazzite. It’s best if you want to use your PC instead of tinkering with Linux. Plus it’s quite gaming focused so Steam etc will work out of the box, although each game’s compatibility will vary. Check protondb.com for compatibility reports on Steam games.
I’d argue that VSCode plus extensions is a decent replacement for Visual Studio and actually superior for many other text editing tasks that are not C++.
I’ve actually had a fair bit of success getting GitHub Copilot do things like this. Heck I even got it to do some matrix transformations of vectors in a JSON file.
128 (I think) with rubber keys. Had to connect to our TV and load programs from a cassette player. It was always a pain in the ass getting that to work. Mind you, I was like 12 years old at the time so it may have been PEBKAC. 😂
