  • Bazzite has been out of the box solid as my 2nd Linux attempt. Except for one little issue with refresh rates above 120 on the desktop. It has both handheld and desktop builds, comes with steam installed, GNOME or Plasma interface.

    My 1080ti didn't have any driver issues as far as I can tell.

  • At this point, Chinese surveillance is less important. They want economic data for selling stuff, and maybe whatever defense/security info they can grab. The more pressing risk is what my home country is grabbing and saving, because China isn't going to no-knock break into my home, shoot my dog and throw me in jail/deport me. Unless interpol is involved for some wild reason, local surveillance is much more of a threat than a country that won't be directly involved.

  • Ahh I saw bazzite and was like, might as well be that one. I don't know if I have a preference for immutable/atomic setups yet, but so far I'm enjoying it. Kde plasma is awesome, setting up my own key shortcuts is great, audio device management is super cool. Bazzite has a Bazzar for flatpaks built in with a bunch of cool gaming related stuff.

  • We have done the freezing before. Take the whole block, drain it, freeze it, thaw it in the fridge, press dry again. The downside is it takes days to do this step, but it changes the texture to something very close to chicken nuggets lol. We typically cut it into fingers or big cubes and toss in corn starch before air frying/deep frying.

  • I wasn't saying they are wrong, just that the community is getting exactly what it wants. Less contribution and visibility on an already small platform.

    I commented on a post about putting lotion in a zip bag, and my comment was about putting mayo in a squeeze bottle. Not exactly gendered discourse.

    Kind of like a community that only accepts input from say, black people. A question about favorite pizzas being thrown out because my username doesn't confirm I'm black, it's just a little weird.

    It's just the most common search, especially in English because more English speaking countries only know the location because of the event.
