  • If a person is going into politics because they crave fame and recognition, they're a shitty politician and we shouldn't reward that kinda behavior. They certainly aren't honorable.

The people who should go into politics are people with firm principles who have something they believe in, and are willing to potentially take flack in order to achieve those goals. Unfortunately, that mostly describes the Republican party, and their principles suck, but it also describes Zohran Mamdani who should be the new model of Dem.

  • I like it when the twist isn't obvious. Realizing the Guardian Ape was getting back up for the first time, for example, is such a great "oh fuck" moment that it's worth any frustration of having to learn two very different fights. For something like Sister Friede from DS3, however, where it's very clear that you're gonna fight Father Ariandel too and there's a third phase with just Friede again after, I would have preferred one very big health bar for the entire fight.

I think my bar is really focused on "is the boss supposed to basically die and then they get like a Zenkai boost from DBZ, or am I just gonna fight the same guy the whole time and they're just getting new moves as their health lowers?"

  • I do it very slowly, often over the course of weeks. If it's something like a cooking project for example, I'll spend one week gathering ingredients, typically one weekend experimenting, and another weekend on making a finished project. If it's a craft project like the gas mask I'm working on, it might take me several months working a few hours a weekend at a time. I find the easiest way to avoid getting overwhelmed is to move at my own pace. I also allow myself to have different types of projects ongoing at once, but crucially only one of each type. In other words, I can have a computer project, a cooking project, and a craft project, but not three different cooking projects.

  • don't worry, I also have a full-time job, but unfortunately I was born in America so it's not enough to cover the rising costs of food, healthcare and housing!

  • okay but that's a big sandwich right? I'm not going crazy?

  • hey if I'm not channeling powerful femboysmell into these panties, how am I gonna be able to sell them to wealthy perverts in order to pay my rent? Checkmate showerers.

  • You've basically reinvented torrenting, but the first step of that is you need to save local copies of that art to your machine. Once you have it, peer to peer sharing will be the only vector for distributing it.

  • The U.S. balkanizing is what I expect to occur sometime in the next few decades. Divisions have just grown so strongly that there already are functionally a few different Americas, even if we're still bound together for now.

In terms of the current shutdown though, I suspect it will last through Thanksgiving, and we will see the mother of all air traffic catastrophes. Multiple high profile crashes, tons of airports fully shutdown, lots of airspace shutdown, all amidst one of the busiest travel times of the year. Afterwards, there will be enough pressure to get the Reps to agree to a clean continuing resolution, which will fund the govt through January, and then we'll do the whole song and dance again.

you can't make this shit up

  • Y'know, when I first watched episode 1, I really didn't expect this show to be about puberty.

  • kinda hate how rushed the ending of God Valley has been. We had about three chapters worth of the Kuja nonsense that went nowhere, and then all of God Valley is like six chapters total.

  • how on earth were you doing that? do you have a Linux phone?

  • Ergo Proxy is so mysterious that I've seen it twice and am still not sure what the fuck actually happens

  • The thing is, the intended way to play Soulslikes is with a community. Some of my favorite experiences in gaming have been the discussions I had online after the release of Sekiro and Elden Ring, where I was sharing the bits of information I had learned and learning new things from others. It's like a fun collaborative research project!

However, once the game has been out for awhile, the community moves on. All of the secrets have been found and immortalized on a wiki or YouTube videos. At that point, it becomes more like an individual research project, where you have to dive into the archives to try and uncover what you're meant to do.

  • I thankfully don't have kids, so I dunno if they're still doing it, but I first heard of it in October. Also dunno if it happened outside of the US

  • If I'm able to speak cat, does that mean my cats will actually listen to me? or will they just stare blankly at me and stick their tongue out when I ask them to get out of my bedroom?

  • I've got great news, but you'll need to start making transfem friends
