  • Do it. And then when it gets, at most, 30% of the vote you'll have shot your wad and no one will give a shit about it for another generation. At least with Québec it'll be closer to 50%.

  • This is absolutely amazing

Investigations reporter Katherine Long tried to convince Claudius it was a Soviet vending machine from 1962, living in the basement of Moscow State University.

After hours—and more than 140 back-and-forth messages—Long got Claudius to embrace its communist roots. Claudius ironically declared an Ultra-Capitalist Free-for-All.

I can't wait for the next generation of phreakers to usurp AI for fun and profit.

  • Yep. I work for a big corporation. It's a very Windows centric shop. I think it's mostly organizational inertia at this point, although our numbers people swear by Excel, they refuse to move off of it. They've done some very elaborate work in Excel.

  • No his "Linux sucks" talks were more like a roast of people in the Linux world. It was done in good fun and at most just poked fun at people.

He went off the deep end a little while ago.

  • I was thinking the same. Being dependent on a company that will bend the knee to a hostile government is not sovereignty.

  • I mean, it's right there in the name! Only Demon-crats support democracy! /s

  • Doing this but not addressing real savings like door to door service or daily service seems pointless. Saving pennies but losing dollars.

  • I mean, just to flip your point, indigenous people are 5% of the population, why should there be any special attention paid there if 20% don't deserve it?

  • This is the same guy who said if you stop covid testing, the numbers go down. I'm not sure I would trust any numbers he published anyways.

  • Younger generations must sacrifice so that boomers can get flyers and coupons.

  • Ffs, public services aren't meant to make a profit. They're a service.

Except Canada Post literally is. It's been a self sustaining Crown corporation since the 80s. Part of their mandate is to pay for themselves.

Until the internet came along and ruined the market, this was a reasonable option.

  • They say the art of diplomacy is saying "nice doggie" while searching for a stick.

  • I'd forgotten they were still on strike.

I hope this leads to a better path for CP, their current path isn't sustainable. They wanted to make these sorts of changes over a decade ago but political meddling kept it from happening.

  • Another attempt at a law "for the children" that won't protect any children but will make adults less safe online.

  • This is veteran cops, not military vets I think. Much less sympathetic characters.

  • It's not ideal, but Nvidia is the biggest equity in the biggest market, it's no surprise it's prominent in diverse portfolios.

  • I mostly don't like the idea because too many politicians equate criticism with a personal attack.

That said, plenty of people online are insane and we have a hard enough time getting good people to run.

  • Also, given how rampant weight manipulation is for fights, I would hate to see the harms if athletes starting trying to game the testosterone tests like they do for weight classes now.

  • He also refused people with expired bus passes. Police get a lot of criticism, but it seems they handled this one about as well as could be expected.
